June 27, 200917 yr Bouwmeester to Calgary for D Jordan Leopold and a 3rd round pick (already picked, RW Josh Birkholz).
June 27, 200917 yr Well at least we got something for him. Too bad we didn't trade him at the deadline last season when we could've gotten something better.
June 27, 200917 yr Nice, an expired contract gone for a D and a prospect. Sounds like a good deal. We would have been left with nothign for him anyway. Traded to my second favorite team. Maybe Kipper would have a chance, but I'm wondering how Leopold will do in So Fla.
June 27, 200917 yr Author Basically rights for rights and a pick b/c Leopold becomes a UFA July 1st, as well. The Panthers have to sign him, but at least they have a chance with him. Bouwmeester was, in no way, staying here.
June 27, 200917 yr Yeah, just saw that. Usually Leopold has a respectable Plus-Minus, last year he blew in Calgary, -15.
June 29, 200917 yr Panthers are right on track to missing the playoffs for the tenth year in a row! :banghead
June 29, 200917 yr There's never been one playoff game in the Sunrise arena, has there? Why'd the build it if they don't care about winning. How does Detroit do it every year? Genetic engineering?

July 1, 200917 yr There's never been one playoff game in the Sunrise arena, has there? Why'd the build it if they don't care about winning. How does Detroit do it every year? Genetic engineering? 99-00 They got swept by the devils that year. Its pretty sad how terrible the panthers have been. They had a good first three seasons, but since then they have just been terrible. They haven't made the playoffs since 1999-2000 and their last playoff win was in game 1 of the 96-97 playoffs when they beat the rangers. I don't think there has been a more pathetic franchise over the last 13 years in any other sport.
July 1, 200917 yr Oh yeah I remember now. That was when they gave up a short handed goal when they were 5 on 3. I think it was Scott Neidermeyer that scored the goal. I also remember that Rangers series. One of the games went to OT and the Panthers scored what should've been the game winner but the referee disallowed it. The Rangers ended up winning that game and it screwed the series for the Panthers. I even remember the ref's name: Dan Marouelli. Edit: Wow. He actually has a Wiki page. Albeit a very small one. Is my memory scary or what! I wish I could remember important things like I remember trivial stuff.
