August 7, 200916 yr Dumbass, this thread is about the coaching, not the players. I never said Hermida was 100% innocent...and it IS Andy Fox's job to make sure the runner gets back to the base. My point is the staff is to blame as much as the players are. They are not doing their jobs either ya, im the dumbass, yet you are the guy who isnt putting 100% of the blame on hermida for getting thrown out at 1st on a single to left field. you are also putting blame on fox for attempting a hi 5. the staff aside from presley has been fine. Glad you agree. Hermida did screw up but he is not 100% at fault. Fox wasn't paying attention either. Why have someone stand out there as first base coach then? wow, youre hilarious. and fox shouldnt have to tell a guy not to f***ing walk back to first base. you must be kidding if you arent putting 100% of the blame on hermida. you are doing exactly what most people do on this board, put no accountability on the players Again, you keep saying that I do NOT blame Hermida... If you'd actually read what I said earlier, Hermida does get some of the blame, and Fox shouldn't have to tell Hermida to get back, but in a tight game in the 8th inning, Fox wasn't paying attention either and didnt do his job. I blame BOTH of them. im not saying that, im saying that 100% of the blame should be on hermida. and like you said, fox shouldnt have to tell him to get back. You dont have to do that in little league, notto mention a game in the majors in a pennant chase. Who said fox wasnt paying attention? if you are walking back to first and your first base coach staqrts flipping out, what are you going to do? it happened so quick there is nothing he can do. it is 100% the players responsibility, nd the fact that you could possibly blame such a retarded play on the first base coach is ridiculous.
August 8, 200916 yr watch your mouth young man LOL I would have totally agreed with with him had it not been for the intentional breaking of the rules of this board about that kind of post. But then again, that is one rule that is continually over looked, and even broken by some moderators.
August 9, 200916 yr Presley, Porter, and Andy Fox can go... The team's offensive inconsistencies over the past few seasons have not improved with Presley(and it pisses me off when they face Moyer that no one makes any changes / adjustments at the plate), Porter sometimes makes really bad decisions on holding or sending runners, and I give Andy Fox some blame for Hermida getting picked off after his 8th inning base hit the other week. If Andy Fox wasn't so busy trying to give Hermida a high five for getting a base hit, he would have told Jeremy to hustle his ass back to the bag. Bench coach can go too. The game from last month when Fredi made switches and Coghlan wasn't supposed to be out there but a pitch was already thrown -- the bench coach is supposed to keep on top of that. Neither Fredi or the bench coach even realized that Coghlan went back out there. The only coach that seems to try is Wiley. Pretty long arm Andy has if this were true. But it's not. That was simply a brain fart by Jeremy. Actually, Andy hasn't done a bad job at all. Taking guys that have never played certain positions and working with them. The turn around with Hanley's defense can be directly contributed to him as well. Been calling for Presley to get fired for some time now. Far too many K's and the failure to adjust is just pitiful. I watched the game and the replay. Fox was too busy congratulating Hermida on his base hit. The point is, why wasn't Fox paying attention too, he should have been on Jeremy to get back to the bag, neither one was paying attention... yet another poster who puts absolutely no accountability on the players. are you seriously putting some blame on andy fox for hermida not getting the f*** back to the base? f***ing ridiculous Fox can't be blamed for that. If I were the first base coach, I would have been so damn excited that Hermida actually got a hit, that I would have rushed to congratulate him in my exhuberance also.
