If Hanely was that injured to the point where he jogged after that ball, he should have asked to be removed from the game. And then he has people bitching at him for not caring enough to play through injury, just like when he asked to be removed from a game last year and Uggla called him out It's lose-lose for him. I'm not talking about what is right in the eyes of this forum. I couldn't care less. His decision to either dog it or play through something that prevented him from running cost this team. That's what matters in the end. He hurt the team's chances of winning. When is everyone going to realize that Hanley doesn't give a rat's ass about this team? He never has and he probably never will. He certainly doesn't care about the fans. He can't even sign autographs for little kids because he think's he's too damn important. The only person Hanley cares about is Hanley. I can't wait until he's donning a Mets hat and pulling this same shi* with a $200 million contract. I just hope someone clocks him in the face and we see him sporting a nice shiner like Scott Olsen that year. That's what he deserves.
  2. The Teal Monster died for me when they dropped the hand-changed numbers in favor of digital ones. Agreed. It's never been the same since.
  3. Pinto and Jose Veras walk guys. It's what they do. With that said, Pinto isn't as bad as this board makes him out to be. He just has his moments. And Fredi thinks he's better than Dan Meyer, unfortunately. I really hope Veras isn't the setup guy. I don't even know why he made the team. Pinto has his moments like a bar regular who has a tendency to turn violent from time to time when he gets drunk. Sure, he only occasionally starts a brawl in the bar, or breaks a few chairs and glasses. But how long should the owner of the bar put up with his antics before saying enough is enough and permanently banning the idiot? Hilarious. There might not be a better way to describe that idiot.
  4. If Uggla goes yard here, please close this thread. I guess it'll stay open now. Now that you all have me thinking about this basta*, is anyone, other than me, bothered by his choice of Lupe Fiasco's "Superstar" as his intro song? Memo to Hanley, it would be cool if someone had chosen it for you. If, on the other hand, you chose it for yourself and then proceed to whine like a little bitc* any time you get upset or something doesn't go your way, then it just makes you look like the whiny bitc* that you are. Didn't look like he was 10% on that swing he just had against a tired Tommy Hanson. What a joker. His hamstring is supposedly 10%, douche. What does that have to do with swinging the bat? Btw, you might want to pay attention, considering Tommy Hanson isn't even on the mound. The fact that you're now complaining over a hit with .RISP just shows that you're nothing more than a hater. EDIT: Why is his song choice relevant? He's not allowed to like certain songs now? Douche? Down boy. I'm surprised that you're trying to turn an argument personal in defense of this guy. This is why I'm gonna go watch the end of this game and leave you to fantasizing about Hanley blowing his load in your eye. At the end of the day, it's just baseball man. These guys don't cut my check or feed my family. Find a new hobby.
  5. I'll skip the part where I explain why a walk-off hit is almost meaningless and is completely dependent on other factors, and just say that the last time I checked, "remembering when someone last had a walk-off hit" isn't a stat, and it doesn't prove your point in any way that Hanley is overrated. What's meaningless about a walk-off hit? That you help your team win a game, or that you do it in about the most uplifting way possible? I'm signing off now, but I'll be waiting on you remembering the last time Hanley did it (if ever). I can tell you are a stat guy. More power to you, just remember that a hit in the 1st inning isn't the same as one in the 9th. If you're bored and can't go to sleep, see if you can find a stat showing just how many of Hanley's rbi's last year (all 17 of them) came when games weren't already decided (one way or the other). Go Cody. Go Marlins.

  7. I'm sorry. I'm not ready to drop this subject yet. Why the hell is your username HanleySucks? What made you think he sucks? If Hanley sucks, I wish every Marlin sucks. If Hanley sucks every hitter not named Pujols sucks. And Hanley's a shortstop, which makes it even more impressive. (not saying he's better than Pujols, but I'm sure you get my point) I get your point. Obviously saying that he sucks is pure hyperbole, but I still do not think he is as good as everyone thinks he is. This is only worsened by his selfish attitude and crappy play when it matters. Answer me this: If we are down 3-2 in the bottom of the ninth, bases loaded, two outs, who do you want up there hitting? I take Cantu, Cody, Baker, Coghlan, Uggla, Helms, Gload, and Johnson over Hanley. Hell, I might even take Hermida. Hanley is a choke artist who will never be a true winner until he learns that baseball is a team game. Everything from his teal shoes, to his teal glove is a desperate cry for attention. Not to mention his all-too-often stupid comments and actions. Seriously, who wears a shirt saying "trade me" because I'm tired of this shi* when asked to abide by the team grooming policy? What makes him so effing special that he's above everyone else? Who says that he's playing at "10 %", and goes crying to the media that his teammates are upset (while your team is reeling but still in the race)? Who, when asked how good JJ is (well before the All-Star game), says "yes, he'll be in St. Louis with me." This guy is Manny Ramirez waiting to happen. His head has gotten too big and I've been a Marlins fan long enough to recognize we've had some true studs come through here. This fool isn't one of them. Please, provide me one stat on why you would rather have those players up in that situation instead of Hanley. Answer me this, when is the last time Hanley Ramirez got a walk-off hit? Off the top of my head, I can think of one for Cantu, Cody, Uggla, Helms, and Gload this year alone. I may be wrong, but I can't remember one. Other than his solo home runs (off Rauch) in the series vs. Arizona last year and a double off the CF wall against the Mets on the road (also last year), I'm drawing some serious blanks trying to think of big, late inning hits by this selfish, choking clown. I can certainly remember big situations where all Hanley needed to do was hit a sac fly or make an out to score big runs, and he instead, left his bat on his shoulder and stared at an outside fastball (like the bitc* that he is). Add this to the reasons I think he's overrated and certainly not entitled to act like the diva that he thinks he is. Back to yesterday, does no one else remember reading (or hearing) that he got into it with Wes earlier this season? I don't remember details but I do remember it happening.

  9. Uggla doesn't suck. Hanley isn't like that. What is up with your username? The fact that before this year, Hanley was hands down the most overrated player in baseball. This year he has performed. There is no doubt about that. But I can't stand how that fool continuosly does/says dumb shi*. He's essentially self-proclaimed himself the best player in baseball and thinks he must be treated differently than everybody else. He thinks he's above the team. Baseball is a team sport. This effing clown needs to learn to shut his mouth and use his talent to become a winner, because up to now, whenever the games really start to mean something, the jackass disappears. I, for one, can't wait until we trade him. If I, as Marlins fan, can get over Beckett and Cabrera getting traded, I can certainly get over this loser moving on in exchange for winners. Wow. Just for fun, could you please tell me how Hanley was the most overrated player in baseball last year? Should I start with his anemic, pathethic batting average with runners in scoring position, or with the ungodly number of errors (and mistakes that he made not counting as errors such as booting routine double play groundballs during key parts in games)?

  11. Hanley Ramirez and Dan Uggla had an argument in the Marlins' clubhouse about Ramirez's early departure from Tuesday's game due to a hamstring injury. Uggla accused Ramirez of not caring about the team because he has a $70 million contract, while Ramirez feels insulted by some teammates' belief that he faked an injury to preserve his league-leading .355 batting average in the midst of an 0-for-14 slump. There are clearly some chemistry issues at play in the Marlins' clubhouse, but it shouldn't affect Ramirez or Uggla from a fantasy standpoint. -rotoworld ugla if you think he is faking it just because he already got his money, then it is time for you to get you sorry as together and get on base more often.Jealous much? Uggla sucks, but I bet he's telling the truth. Hanley has always been a selfish little bitc* who thinks he's entitled to special privileges and star treatment.

Presley, Porter, and Andy Fox can go... The team's offensive inconsistencies over the past few seasons have not improved with Presley(and it pisses me off when they face Moyer that no one makes any changes / adjustments at the plate), Porter sometimes makes really bad decisions on holding or sending runners, and I give Andy Fox some blame for Hermida getting picked off after his 8th inning base hit the other week. If Andy Fox wasn't so busy trying to give Hermida a high five for getting a base hit, he would have told Jeremy to hustle his ass back to the bag. Bench coach can go too. The game from last month when Fredi made switches and Coghlan wasn't supposed to be out there but a pitch was already thrown -- the bench coach is supposed to keep on top of that. Neither Fredi or the bench coach even realized that Coghlan went back out there. The only coach that seems to try is Wiley. Pretty long arm Andy has if this were true. But it's not. That was simply a brain fart by Jeremy. Actually, Andy hasn't done a bad job at all. Taking guys that have never played certain positions and working with them. The turn around with Hanley's defense can be directly contributed to him as well. Been calling for Presley to get fired for some time now. Far too many K's and the failure to adjust is just pitiful. I watched the game and the replay. Fox was too busy congratulating Hermida on his base hit. The point is, why wasn't Fox paying attention too, he should have been on Jeremy to get back to the bag, neither one was paying attention... yet another poster who puts absolutely no accountability on the players. are you seriously putting some blame on andy fox for hermida not getting the f*** back to the base? f***ing ridiculous Fox can't be blamed for that. If I were the first base coach, I would have been so damn excited that Hermida actually got a hit, that I would have rushed to congratulate him in my exhuberance also.
  13. just read on fish bytes that he is expected to start on saturday so it wouldnt have mattered Who Badenhop? Why would he start? If anything they'd recall Miller but there's really no point in starting Hopper. Why not? A starter is way more valuable than a long reliever, and the only chance Hopper got this year to start...he did well (against Philadelphia in Philly). I'm just worried about him having a bad start, and if he does, lets say he only goes 4 inning, then who comes out to pitch 2 or 3 innings to save the rest of the bullpen. You are right that he did well in Philly but that thought just comes to mind. But why can't we just stick to the 4 man rotation? It's worked pretty well so far and they have the day off today. Don't worry people. We will have Halladay by then. This will be a moot topic.

I have some budies coming up for the series and my gf suggested that we get a hotel. I think she wants me out of the house. This seemed like a good idea though. Anyone have any idea what the team hotel is? Stay close to Mons Venus.
  15. Before you start saying he hasn't, actually check the stats from April and then May. Going into Saturday night's game he was K'ing about once every 6.33 ABs in May. In April that number was once every 3.88 ABs. Know who on the team has a better ratio for May? No one. Me, 2003, and Daulton aren't ignoring anything. Add me to your list. I don't understand the Boni hate. He plays 3B better than it's been played here at anytime since Lowell. That alone explains why he is here. He runs like a tornado. That adds an exclamation point to his roster spot. He has no power, he's essentially a rookie, yet he's hitting .267, which is better than Uggla, Hermida, Ross, Amezega, Gload, Paulino, Helms and Coghlan, and within 4 points of Cantu and 8 points of Baker. As crappy as he's supposed to be, he nonetheless owns the 4th best batting average on the team. Beat out a couple more infield grounders and he's second only to Hanley. He's OPSing better than Uggla, Ross, Amezaga and Helms. Yeah, he had a string of useless offensive games in April, but, as has been repeatedly said, he's been improving. Significantly. He's a kid, but a determined kid with a lot of basic tools and the apparent drive and desire to hang around. I like Wes, but think about it. Boni is faster than Helms. Boni is younger the Helms. Boni has a better glove than Helms. Boni is hitting better than Helms. Boni has more potential upside (limited as it may be) than Helms, who is a fully known quantity. The same could be said of Boni versus Amezaga, who I also like, with the possible exception of glove. Which explains why Boni is still an every-day starter. Instead of getting on Helms or Amezaga (or regulars Uggla, Hermida and Ross,) some people get on Boni. Makes no sense. He's starting because he deserves to be starting ON THIS TEAM. If you have an extra $5 or 10 million (or even 2 or 3) to spend on 3B on another team, he'd be on the bench. We don't. Meanwhile, he's getting the job done for $400K. I suspect that he'll continue to meet at least minimal expectations for the rest of the year. Damn. I couldn't possibly agree more. It seems like every time I log on this blog there is always a new blog bad-mouthing this poor guy. He is far from a finished product but I have no problem at all with him getting a chance to play everyday to see what he can do.
