August 14, 200915 yr I'll just say let the FO and player development guys decide when he's ready. I like the guy, nobody wants him back in the rotation more than me but in my mind he's forfeited the right to pronounce himself fit and/or ready to be called up. As for his 95 mph fastball I wonder what they clock the tourists at in your local radar trap.
August 14, 200915 yr Looks like the shoulder strength is there, with the velocity topping at 95. I'd like to see him get another start to get his command back.
August 14, 200915 yr I say he doesn't get called up this year, or if he does not until August 30th. Let him Sit, and get ready for next year truthfully. 6 Months of rest is what he needs.
August 14, 200915 yr Author Nah, I think Anibal at his best is definitely better than a Sean West, or a Vandenhurk. I say give him one more start, and bring him back. We need old Anibal!

August 14, 200915 yr Easy, because his shoulder has more holes then Jenna Jameson know's what to do with. I wouldn't risk his health, I woul djust let him recouperate an extra few months. Shut him down, and look out for the long term.
August 15, 200915 yr Except we've always shut him down before, and he still gets injured. I know it sounds harsh, but personally I don't care because he's not a guy who's going to be with the team long term anyhow. Its a risk you have to take, because you cannot rely on guys like VandenHurk.
August 15, 200915 yr All we need from Anibal is a 4.25ish ERA and 6 innings consistently. Anything more than that is icing on the cake.
August 15, 200915 yr I would start Annibal for the Marlins sooner rather than later. My first candidate for a respite in AA in Volstad. His control and confidence are severely lacking right now. And I think he has a tired arm. To my way of thinking, Sanchez is very much a key to the Marlins hopes this season. I see at least the hope that he can come in and give a strong performance every fifth day as we fight for a post season appearance. I see something like a 4-1 record and 3.00 ERA in nine starts down the stretch.
August 15, 200915 yr It's actually not the worst idea, waiting until August 30th to activate him. It's August 15th already, another couple of weeks of low stress and added time to continue to rehab and strengthen his shoulder might not be the worst thing in the world. And activating him on the 30th makes him eligible for the playoffs which after all is the prize they've been playing all season to achieve.
