  1. Marmol is still available... Please all that is holy, NO!
  2. 20 Ks is possible. I'm guessing 25 Ks, and a perfect game in 47 pitches.
  3. No walks here, AJ. Way to jinx us, Eric! Holy shit, I thought that was a walk off.. That was close.. Thank god we are not in colorado
  4. You ever notice that everyone with gian in their name is awesome?
  5. He is owning up to what he has done and I think making fun of him because you disagree with his spiritual beliefs is not the right thing to do. If he believes that god is testing him by making him have no command of his curve ball, then that is fine. Most major leaguers believe god has something to do with the game, he is not alone. As long as he doesn't believe he doesn't have to do anything to fix it, then he is fine. "faith without works is dead" The "testing" can be an issue. God isn't going to be upset with him because he tweaked his delivery. He's going to be upset because of something he is doing in life. So God "tests" him either for a. no reason or b. because he is going against his will. IF God exists and, judging by his creations and not "his" word, is logical, then Bell did something wrong (maybe he is wearing clothing of more than one fabric). So God tests him by making him suck or by making the hitters see his pitches perfectly. So now we get to where religion is detrimental to progression. Bell needs to do something related to his game to fix his issues, but his religion may point him to his actions off the field. So Bell may decide to say a few more prayers or something, or stop taking the lords name in vain. Who knows, but it has nothing to do with baseball. This can only prolong his slump. If he takes action at bettering his game instead of placing blame on Santa Claus for adults, then the chances of him coming out of this slump are > 0. I understand what you are saying and I agree with you to a point, but I think there is some misunderstanding on your part. A good understanding of the judeo-christian faiths which does not include archaic principles that have nothing to do with character from the old testament, dictates that everyone sins everyday and that because hardship is the only way you grow, this is the medium he uses to allow you to grow. Perhaps he draws a conclusion that his work ethic is in question or that he is being too prideful, idk, that doesn't matter. Honestly, I don't know why I am even talking about this, but i think I just didn't like how people were misinterpretating his statements. As I said, I do not believe a professional baseball player is going to not going to try his hardest to correct what is wrong with his delivery just because he said he thinks god is testing him.

  7. Actually we're 8.5 games back... THERE'S STILL A CHANCE! I think Mckeon has one more miracle playoff run left in him!!!!
  8. BRAVES LOST! 8.5 games back of the WC!! We have a small chance!
  9. What happens if we go on a massive run right now and win 30 out of 40, and are 1-2 games back of the wildcard or even leading, and he is feeling a bit better. I mean we're 8.5 games back in the Wildcard as of this second, that isn't HORRIBLE. The next series against Atlanta is HUGE. If we sweep them, then we are RIGHT back in the race. I think it's doable.. I say we have a small chance if we really get things together like we have been lately. They are giving me a lot lately!!
  10. Does anyone else think Bonifacio is going to keep this up and *MAY* end up being an amazing player who hits .300 with 40 SBs multiple years in his career. He at least has the potential, right? I swear his eye for the ball and pitch recognition has improved so much it's ridiculous, does anyone know why this is?! I can't believe it. He's also aggressive when he's hot, so it creates a snowball effect. He has made it in my top 5 favorite marlins at this time. and will probably stay there for awhile. Stanton Johnson Ramirez Logan Boni
  11. Seriously. Wtf is he on drugs or something?
  12. had a really rough go of it today SHHHHHH
  13. Sun Sports but that's the f***ing ray game??
  14. Another positive would be that none of our starters struck out in this game. The Marlins only K'd twice, and it was Josh Johnson both times. For a team that's been at the top in strikeouts over the years, that was nice to see. According to my research, the last time we pulled this off was on August 16, 2007. This was the lineup: Hanley Ramirez SS Alejandro de Aza CF Miguel Cabrera 3B Josh Willingham LF Mike Jacobs 1B Dan Uggla 2B Miguel Olivo C Jeremy Hermida RF How the hell did we pull that off with Jacobs in the lineup? All that shows you is one game sample sizes in the MLB MEAN NOTHING NO MATTER WHAT, not even if george harrison told you so.
  15. Who didn't think that sh*t was GONE?!?!! EMILIO BONIFACIO YOU JUST MATCHED YOUR INSIDE THE PARK HR from last year!!!!
  16. Ugggh, I was referring to best power, but whatever. I'm done with you. If you've been watching baseball for 6 decades, you should be at least 60. Grow the f*** up. How come you let him get to you? I know he was trying to get on your nerves, but he's obviously immature. You should teach him to be the bigger person, instead of trying to get him banned. You're a really good poster, and I know guys like these can get really annoying, but I try to ignore them I'm glad I'm back here, I've been REALLY busy (for the last 3 months) at my job and haven't even had the time to post here (I just looked at my last post, back in early June where you actually complimented me very well, thanks for that) WHILE trying to major in Pharmocology, and minor in Chemistry. You wonder how I can catch the game every night!! It's not easy..
  17. I wonder if Stanton reads these threads. If he did, I think he'd be a little freaked out with this one lol. No, freaking him out would be telling him that I have a picture of him hanging up in my locker at the gym. :mischief Hahaha, man, that made me f***ing crack up.. Cause..uh..I kinda do too.. What a coincedence. lol Hey, this guy is just too good to NOT hang in my locker.
  18. Jesus Christ does this guy only hit home runs? He has a f***ing .200 average with 43 RBIS?! That's sure is called all or nothing..
  19. GOD DAMMIT RICKY!!!!!
  20. We lose due to incredibly weak game thread. lol, I was just thinking, "Where's the Met's pitcher's ERA!!" I guess he likes it short and sweet.
  21. Hopefully the Dodgers can cool off the Braves.. Close game last night, I believe same score as our game. The Phillies are heading to San diego, bet that won't help their offense!!!
  22. (part of the article) Johnson ranks fifth among all MLB starters with a 2.66 FIP, just six-hundredths of a point behind Jimenez and only about a half run higher than his actual ERA (unlike Ubaldo, who's FIP is more than one and a half points higher than his ERA). Johnson's K/9 and K/BB are superior to Ubaldo's, and Johnson gets to pitch half his games in pitcher-friendly venue, as opposed to Coors Field which, by most measures, is still the friendliest offensive environment in baseball. Let the debate begin. Who would you rather own for the rest of the season? Ubaldo Jimenez or Josh Johnson? http://fantasybaseball.fanhouse.com/2010/06/04/roto-rush-josh-johnson-a-better-bet-than-ubaldo/
  23. JJ does what he does best - being our ace. Ronny paulino cantinues to get clutch hits, its ridiculous. He has never let up and is I swear becoming one of the most underrated catchers in the MLB.
  24. Yeah, f*** that sh*t, MLB OVERTURN IT!! THAT IS WAYYY TOO BLATANT!
