August 25, 200917 yr I was taking a look at the New Orleans game box score and noticed Maybin was out of the lineup. He played yesterday, so I don't think he's hurt. There has been talk of DL'ing Johnson retroactively, so has anyone else heard/seen anything?

August 25, 200917 yr Looking at Maybin's NO stats ... no speed on the bases (as reflected by steals) and no power (as reflected by homeruns). To be honest, I thought he would show a lot more in AAA. I don't know if he will ever be a Marlins regular.
August 25, 200917 yr I don't know about anyone else whose been to New Orleans but homeruns and stolen bases don't particularly worry me as indicators of future performance -the reason - being at or below sea level (actually I posted it here this spring) the field is something like 8ft or so above sea level and is notorious a home run killer ball park. Not to worry. As for his speed we saw enough of him in the outfield to know speed is not going to be a problem.
August 25, 200917 yr Yeah it's not like speed disappears in a 21 year old that plays baseball every single day. As far as his power goes he's still posting a 150ish iso which is a lot better indicator of power then HRs. He's not acting like a slap hitter over there.

August 26, 200917 yr Maybin's got a sore back? Better call up the Nationals. We need to trade this guy.
August 27, 200917 yr We most likely won't see Maybin til some time in September which thank god is pretty close.
