I don't see why you guys think that was a bad move. (unless if you wanted Meyer in there, instead...but bringing in a lefty made sense, there)

But I don't think Pinto is good versus lefties

But you can't have a power hitter up there representing the time run, hitting against his strength. Not that bad is bad against lefties, he's just insanely awesome against righties. Plus, as I've stated about Pinto before...he's just frustrating. Too many walks. In terms of hitting him though...lefties are only slugging at a .341 clip against him (which is well below league average).

Which is why you put Meyer in.

LHB have a .381 OBP against Pinto and hitters go .403 OBP in high leverage. Yes, he doesn't get hit hard, but with 2 guys on-base you don't want him putting more on.

Though this, and I didn't know this at the time, is why Fredi was right.

Dunn was .667/.750/1.667 off Meyer, .182/.250/.273 off Pinto.

Didn't know that, either.

My thing was that it's a 3 run lead, so the only thing that can truly hurt us there (for that single batter) is a homerun to tie the game (taking the lead away from us). Lefties are slugging better against Meyer than Pinto. But I get your point.

Yeah, my problem is that such high OBPA numbers, with 2 already on, his how big innings happen. It's been proven with Pinto. But I also get your point. You don't need station to station when you can just bang it in with 1 swing.

It's official... Fredi Gonzalez is gay for Renyel Pinto.

According to Tommy and Rich, when they were complaining about people complaining about Fredi using Renyel Pinto (and they covertly used codename 'so-and-so') other players were "not available". So please, tell me when Renyel Pinto becomes unvailable? Is he the only one who is ALWAYS available?

It's funny because Renyel Pinto has appeared in 6 of the last 9 games... pitching 5.1 innings, allowing 8 hits, 5 runs (including the inhereted runner) and blowing 2 leads. Way to go Fredi.

I don't see the 2 blown leads, to be fair. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/gamelog?playerId=6203

Anyways, you're right about Renyel being Fredi's guy. Part of it might be b/c Pinto is the quickest to warmup...supposedly.
