September 15, 200916 yr I know the closer position is overrated but i would love the FO to get an overrated closer like Mariano, would make me feel good.
September 15, 200916 yr Be honest? OK Ricky struggled big time last night but he will improve next year . Volstad will improve a lot hes only 22. Vandenhurk should be better getting more experience. Miller, Sanchez and West big questions. Uggla and Hermida probably gone. Johnson locked up after next year. IMO . Also individuals, Hanley batting champ, Johnson Cy Young candidate, Coughlin ROY candidate, Ross gold glove at center made only a few errors and nice catches, Volstad gold glove at pitcher many good plays and only 1 error. Good players coming up we should be better next year. All my opinon

September 15, 200916 yr How many of those inherited runs are thanks to Hayden Penn, Logan Kensing, and company? The offenders include Penn, but also Pinto and Sanches. The lack of depth on the team is precisely why guys like Penn, Martinez and Wood are used. Add a truly solid guy and the team won't have to use all 3 of those idiots, and none of them as much. The fish have the top of the depth chart quality, we just lack the depth to keep it up for an entire season.
September 15, 200916 yr What's wrong with Tim Wood? He hasn't been stellar no but with the control he's shown you can basically pencil him on becoming an average reliever. And the entire IS% is rather a meh stat to me. I mean, I certainly understand that some pitchers will be better than others at it. But it's a lot like RBI to me. Yeah, some hitters are better RBI hitters than others, but their isn't a big difference between them and the overall ability is more important

West first year up like Volstads last year should have been better since batters dont know him yet. His periperal high numbers now BABIP .313 and WHIP 1.53 show his record and ERA should be worse. He had almost all inherited runners many on 2nd and 3rd with no outs saved for him=good luck. Next year soph slump year when batters will know him better and 89-91 fastball and poor fielder=big question. He may do OK though IMO
September 17, 200916 yr As long as the Marlins aren't moved to the AL East they'll have plenty of chances to get into the playoffs. Poor Tampa Bay. NOT!:lol

He may do OK though IMO A high BABIP indicates bad luck for pitchers, but it doesn't mean much without considering LD, GB, and FB rates.
