September 21, 200915 yr Author Fake, the middle fish and "Marlins" is gold on the real one. Thats the first thing I noticed... To thing this dude has sold "Champ rings" before is unreal...
September 21, 200915 yr Looks fake to me. And this seller doesn't accept returns so if anyone buys it, they are stuck with a fake WS ring.
September 21, 200915 yr It says in the description text that it is a "Fan" ring made w/c.z.'s, so they're not billing it as anything but a copy.
September 21, 200915 yr There were so many versions of this ring distributed from the player/ownership/mgmt version to one's manufactured as keepsakes for vendor's, service personnel and some season ticketholders that you probably need to call the Marlins to find out if this is an authentic version. There may very well be a page somewhere on the web identifying all the "official" versions, I don't know but I never looked either. Chances are Rabb is right or this might be something that for example the Marlins had made for Budweiser (just an example) to hand out through local distributors or something. It does after all say "fan" ring in the description and is made of "non-precious metals" and "CZs" so even if it is authentic it has to be down near the bottom both in prestige and worth. I'd shy away from it. If it's a fake it's worthless and even if it's real it has almost no intrinsic value.
September 21, 200915 yr Author This is more like it... http://cgi.ebay.com/FLORIDA-MARLINS-WORLD-SERIES-2003-CHAMPIONSHIP-RING_W0QQitemZ400069693188QQcategoryZ43359QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3907.m263QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DSIC%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BFICS%252BUFI%252BDDSIC%26otn%3D12%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D54#ht_500wt_1182
September 21, 200915 yr I would e-mail the seller and ask him to post a video of the ring cutting glass.
September 22, 200915 yr Know what i think that is? Looks like a high school class ring designed as a Florida Marlins ring lol.
September 22, 200915 yr Yeah, it even says in the auction description that it is a 'fan' ring. I remember they did have a giveaway at one point of the rings, and it was one of the more popular giveaways in team history.
