According to SI's Jon Heyman, 3 teams are interested and the fish are believed to be one of them. Other two are Mets and Brewers.

Seems like the Marlins are intent on adding outfield depth (based on the Ankiel interest as well).

I'm not a huge fan of Catalanotto, but he's always been decent against RHP, so would seem obvious that he could fill a similar role that Luis Gonzalez filled back in 08.

um...yeah! The Marlins have only 2 "REAL" OF and one of them hasn't proven himself outside of September. The other is probably in his last or 2nd to last season with the Fish imho...so yeah, outfield if a necessity!

Just wanted to mention that Peterson and Morrison can also play the outfield, as can Brett Carroll, Emilio Bonifacio (lulz), Maybin, Coghlan, Ross.

I'm not saying it's "true" outfielder depth, but we have 7 guys on the current roster who have experience playing in the outfield.

We need a left handed corner player to finish filling out our bench.

That's been our need for a long time now, and the FO has said as much since Gload signed with Philly.

Catalanotto is a good fit for the Marlins. He won't rattle any cages about playing time and he is a good pinch hitter.

He signed a minor league deal with the Muts today

I continue to be baffled by what the Mets are doing.
