June 18, 201016 yr (Very begrudgingly) In Spike's defense, most scout's considered Shelby Miller's upside to be slightly higher than Chad James'. That being said, as he always does, Spike is exagerating the difference between the two. James wasn't as much of a reach as Spike will paint it for the next 5 years. By the way, Spike. How's that .064 ISO prediction for Gaby coming?
June 18, 201016 yr You want me to ignore scouting reports(which all had Miller has a top 10 pick and James as a big reach where the Marlins picked him) but the scouts who go watch them should be listened to, even though they are the ones writing the scouting reports? The Marlins skipped Miller because of his price tag, not because James is a better prospect. The marlins needed a lefty and miller isnt impressing either.

The very first link that comes up on google for "2009 MLB Mock Draft" has Miller as the 18th pick and Chad James as the 20th. This is why nobody takes you seriously. Don't speak in such certain tones unless you know you are right or you look like an asshole.

June 18, 201016 yr How isnt Miller impressing? He is being taken along slowly, and his peripherals are all better than James. Maybe "big reach" was a stretch, but James was considered a supplemental or 2nd round pick. And Miller wasnt thought of as "slighty" better than James. Miller was considered a top 10 pick who fell because of asking price who had comparisons to Josh Beckett coming out of high school. As for Gaby, while I was low in my prediction(intentionally), he is still a 1B who doesnt hit for power.
June 18, 201016 yr Watching the two of you debate is impressive. Both of you are wrong, and yet you keep disagreeing with each other.
June 18, 201016 yr Maybe "big reach" was a stretch, but James was considered a supplemental or 2nd round pick. No he wasn't. f***. You suck. You do this all of the time. You'll say something and get proven wrong on it and then come back with it 3 weeks later. Do you hope the people you discuss these things with don't notice when you do it again after they discuss it with you?
June 18, 201016 yr How am I wrong? Most mocks I read had Miller in the top 10 and James out of the 1st.

Gaby has like 7 or 8 hr's which isnt ridiculous power but he still has pop and he is a solid all around player.

We did this on the other board, I know you can't have forgotten about it. http://projectprospect.com/article/2009/05/24/2009-mlb-mock-draft James 17- Miller 14 http://www.mymlbdraft.com/MLB-Mock-Draft-2009 James 20-Miller 18 http://www.sportingnews.com/blog/MLB_Draft/entry/view/23807/2009_mlb_mock_draft_1st_round James 25-Miller 11 That took me two seconds to find. You've done this whole thing a bunch of times and you've yet to really show anything substantial to back up what you've said. You've just said "I've read scouting reports!" and provided no links or proof. Miller was more highly rated than James, but it was barely a reach by most accounts.

June 18, 201016 yr then dont read it. If anything, I'm doing you guys a favor with my skull cracking ways. Consider it a public service. You're welcome.
June 18, 201016 yr haha, i actually confused you with broncobob but if you are willing to accept the role of forum asshole then im A-OK with that, lol.
June 18, 201016 yr How dare you confuse me with BroncoBob. Funny story. I sat in BroncoBob's seat the other night at a game. When Bonifacio struck out, I couldn't even see it from that angle. It all makes sense now.
