JetsMania
We'll see what kind of contract they give Revis. Rumors are that the Jets have a $100 million contract with 40 guaranteed on the table. I'm glad they locked up Ferguson, he is probably a top 5 left tackle in the league.
Anonymous
Do you guys think they kind of overpaid?
mystikol87
It's tough to overpay to lock up a young top 5 LT for 8 years when you have a right-handed QB.
Anonymous
True. Miami did the same with Dansby.

JetsMania
Do you guys think they kind of overpaid? Its hard to rate Olineman. But Jake Long and Ferguson are now getting the same. BTW I hate how rookies get paid so much in the NFL. How is it these guys who haven't played a down, are getting so much? JaMarcus Russell was getting paid more than most qbs in the league. Jake Long (who has played very well) was the top paid tackle before he played a down. I'm not smiting Jake Long, I'm smiting the NFL. Dr Beinfest
I would never tie up so much in football players to be honest. Unfortunately lots of GMs would which would make me a bad GM

JetsMania
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/07/09/a-little-funny-money-in-the-dbrickashaw-deal/ The ferguson deal includes a lot of funny money. In order for him to get the full value, he has to block 7 punts in 2015 and 2016 (I wish I was making this up).
Dr Beinfest
Sounds like his contract is completely geared to keep him on a short leash...
bobbob1313
Rumors are that the Jets have a $100 million contract with 40 guaranteed on the table. That's absolutely ridiculous.
JetsMania
Rumors are that the Jets have a $100 million contract with 40 guaranteed on the table. That's absolutely ridiculous. $40 guaranteed is not ridiculous for him, the $100 million maybe. But in the NFL it really never is $100 million. They put in unreachable incentives and can cut a player towards the end of the contract which are usually fluff years.
