Why isn't that option enabled. And why isn't it a standard function in all form software? What possible security risk could there be in being allowed to delete your own posts? Or maybe its set to off by default and the forum owner never bothers to set it to on. In which case, its the developer that's paranoid.

It's one of the benefits of becoming a VIP.

And a good reason as to why it should be VIP only.

 

If everyone were able to delete there posts, they'd delete posts simply to get themselves out of stupid arguments sometimes. Making it a VIP feature gives that power to few people

My reason for wanting to delete posts is to delete double posts. Other reasons hadn't occurred to me. Editing out stupidity is just as effective as deleting it. Especially since an "Edited By" tag isn't added(mandatorally).

The mods are generally pretty speedy at removing double posts. I think so anyway.

Eh, I'd say we're at a low on mod activity right now, but nonetheless we're a very well behaved board. There's almost never a reason for moderator interaction, which makes MarlinsBaseball quite the unique board.

Real life seems to have caught up with the mods a bit but I still think they do a pretty good job overall. And especially during the season, the mods do more than most people notice.

 

Though, they could arguably use a mod who's awake late... and a 12-time Lurry winner...

1 day after a win it's "z0mg this team is a playoff team meybe if they can put theyre at 2gether" and the next day after a loss it's "all hell has broken lose, abdnon teh shipz!!!". People are extremely bitter over there, but as a fan myself I can't exactly blame them. 10 years of no playoffs, of being the worst team in the league... it stings.
