May 6, 201115 yr Anyone else play on FanDuel.com? It's daily fantasy sports for those that don't know. It's for real money and it's like playing in a pay-for-play fantasy league except it lasts a day instead of an entire season. It's completely legal since it's considered fantasy sports rather than sports gambling. Basically you can play head-to-head, 5 team leagues, 10 team leagues or in one of their big tournaments of the day with hundreds of entrants for as low as $5 and then build a team based on an allotted salary cap. Players earn points based on hits, runs, rbi, strikeouts, IP, wins and a few other categories. If your team has more points than the other people in the tournament, you win cash. I don't mean for this to be a spam topic by the way, I'm really curious if anyone else plays there already or will now. I have played there for a bit and it's been fun. That being said... If you decide to give it a shot, use this link and it'll convert a $10 deposit into $25! - Link
May 6, 201115 yr Author Have you made any money playing? Yep sure have and withdrawals via PayPal are quick. Haven't had any problems.
May 6, 201115 yr It just basically says that you can win over $15,000 per day. I'd like a more specific set of rules to know what I have to do to earn a specific amount of money. How does this work? Also, do you have to be 21 to do this?

How does this work? Also, do you have to be 21 to do this? Well, you can only win that much if you place first in multiple big tournaments with a higher buy-in than 5 bucks. I personally stick to lower buy-in tourneys since I can't afford to risk a lot of money so obviously I'm not making life changing money. It's nice having a little extra spending money though. There's a FAQ on there that help you out, it's up top on the right hand side and you need to be 18.
May 6, 201115 yr Author For instance, this was from a $5 buy-in tourney the other day with 267 people in it. They run at least one of these large tournaments a day, sometimes it's a $10.00 buy-in but it's usually $5.00. About the top 25 or so place in the money. That was the team assembled with the allotted salary cap. Obviously a player like Lincecum costs a lot more of the cap so it hurt what I could put out there lineup wise but it worked out in the end.
May 6, 201115 yr Am I paying for something? No, you are just depositing money into your FanDuel account so you can play the game and win real cash. You can withdraw this balance at any time at no cost. I'm a bit confused; is this like monopoly money I'm throwing in to earn real money if I do well? That sounds too good to be true, lol. When it says "no," it seems like I'm not spending real money, at any point.

Everyone gets money then? Last place got $25, there...
May 6, 201115 yr Author You spend the money by risk if you enter a tournament. By just depositing you spent nothing yet since you can withdraw it whenever you want without penalty or fees, that's what they mean albeit creatively written. They offer a money back guarantee too, if you don't like the service after your first ($5 or $10) tournament -- they will reimburse you the entry fee and let you withdraw it back.

May 6, 201115 yr Author You were 4th out of 267 then? :cool Yep and if not for my lousy outfield, I might've won it all.

May 6, 201115 yr Author Once you commit to it, do you have to participate in a league everyday? Or just at your own convenience? Whenever you want and you build a new team every tourney, or you could build the same team each time if you wanted to. They also have head to head tournaments where you can play a friend or just a random opponent. Can play as many of those a day as you want and build a different team or the same team for each one. Risk $5 each to win $9 in those.

Would be cool to go against some of the people on this board, if that's possible. We should try this one day! I'd do one tonight, actually, if people want to play!
May 6, 201115 yr I love this idea since I am a gamber anyway. One question, is it restricted to US participation or providing I have a paypal account or something, can anyone play?

I traditionally do well in fantasy baseball leagues so hopefully now I can get money for my "talents"
May 6, 201115 yr Author What happens if a league doesn't meet the minimum requirement of people? Entry fee is refunded back to you and league is canceled, but they almost always fill up by lock time.
