November 24, 200322 yr Mentioned it on WFAN 660 AM here in NY: Curt Schilling to the Red Sox for Casey Fossum and two minor leaguers. He needs to waive his no trade clause.
November 24, 200322 yr Author WFAN is the major sports radio station in New York. Don't know where they heard it from though.
November 24, 200322 yr WFAN is the major sports radio station in New York. Don't know where they heard it from though. Yeah I know what WFAN is but I was wondering where they got there information from because most of the time they give credit to the source when reporting it.
November 24, 200322 yr Author And now they just said Gammons has said that Fossum will be dealt to Milwaukee for Sexson as part of the deal as well. They are calling their source "their source". That's it. They also said that their source said Curt wants 2 yrs 30 million from the Sox and would take 2 yrs 24 million from the Yanks if they tried to trade for him.

November 25, 200322 yr Curt Schilling could be going to Boston. A deal is in place, pending Schilling's approval, that would send the D-Backs right-hander to the Red Sox, for Casey Fossum, Brandon Lyon and two prospects http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1669959
November 25, 200322 yr Personally, I think Boston would be 'giving up too much' young talent for a 37 year old pitcher. True it is Curt Shilling, but still.....people have accused the Yankees of mortgaging the future for a 'quick fix' gosh.....does this sound like anything other than.....try to win NOW, and give up some wins in seasons to come. Sure sounds like it to me. I just hope that Red Sox fans, like the arrows that will be thrown there way, if it comes off.
November 25, 200322 yr Offical the Trade has now happened ! Curt Schilling is now a Red Sox along with Pedro Martinez and Derek Lowe
November 26, 200322 yr Boston may be hurting themselves actually... Curt is taking his dear time with this plus if he does not accept(I think he will accept though) they not only do not get Curt but while they are playing the wait game. The Phillies just made an offer to Millwood and I'm sure a few other teams have as well.

He says that this will be the last contract he signs in his career. Obviously he wants to retire around 40. The Red Sox GM/etc. are now in Phoenix meeting with him to negotiate a deal. What helps is that it looks like Terry Francona will become the Sox new manager and he and Curt are still friends since he was Curt's manager in Philly.
