Apparently a deal is coming with two prospects going your way (not Riley) as soon as tomorrow. I was just wondering if you heard anything on your side of the fence.

A closer inspection of the genesis of this rumor will probably show it was a Xerox service technician :w00t but hey it's a slow news day.

November 25, 200322 yr The article in the Baltimore Sun sounds like the marlins are going to give away Lee....as long as the "lower level" prospects they are talking about giving us involves Denny Bautista or Matt Riley im ok w/ it. Some guy in the Orioles board said that maybe their GM is trying to see if maybe we dont offer salary arbitration - no way are the Marlins going to let Lee go for nothing...they'd rather go to arbitration and then trade him.

Well he was mentioned in trade talks, when we almost traded lee a couple of days ago. I hope we can get him back, we should of not traded him.

The Marlins can always give Lee permission to discuss a possible extension with a team they are about to trade him to. It's been done before (Conine and the Fish did it in August) and it's being done with Curt Schilling and the Red Sox right now. Basically, it's not illegal if he had the Marlins' permission and I'm betting he did.
