November 26, 200322 yr I know this will open up a can of worms, but I had to ask, because i'm interested in getting some feedback from some people other than the few I talk outside the site boards.
November 26, 200322 yr Author Yes only if its at a reasonable price. Well yes, but odds are it's not going to be a reasonable price (ie talks of him wanting 5 years, 50 million dollars)

November 26, 200322 yr yes-hes a great player-we should keep him-maybe even if its for 10 mill-but hes a player that you know for sure will give you results-and thats what you look for-so we should keep him as hard as we can.
November 26, 200322 yr Yes, I expect Pudge will quickly find that the way the market is there is no way he can get the contract he is expecting and will fall right back into the lap of the Marlins.
November 26, 200322 yr $10 mill a year for the next 5 years for a 32 year old catcher? no way, 2-3 year deal at about $15-20 mill

November 26, 200322 yr boras is wrong anyways... he wont get what he wants... pudge will remain a marlin!!!! but for how much?

November 26, 200322 yr Just pretty much what everyone else is saying... I'd love to see him back as a Marlin now that he's familiar with our pitchers and has shown us his clutch hitting especially in the postseason. But if it's not at an affordable price, I'd rather see us spend the money on Mikey, Castillo, or Guerrero and use Castro/Redmond for catcher.
November 26, 200322 yr No. Only because we have other priorities (Lowell) and we could replace him with Castro who may not match his numbers, but will come pretty close. The key is money, Pudge is going to get at least $7M - I would rather spend that on a certain RF who played for the Expos...but that is just me.
November 26, 200322 yr No way. i have a feeling once he gets a multiyr deal hes gonna put on that weight and gonna hurt his back up again. no way! plus hes greedy
November 26, 200322 yr I say make a run at Vald and let Pudge test the market just to see run back to the Fish..
November 26, 200322 yr if you can land Pudge for $4,000,000 or less, then yes. if not, let him go the way of the do-do.
November 26, 200322 yr I say make a run at Vald and let Pudge test the market just to see run back to the Fish.. Marlins have until the first week of December to sign him or forfeit all rights to sign him until May.
