Former Marlins first round draft pick Aaron Thompson made his MLB debut yesterday and along with former Marlins Jason Grilli and Jose Veras help to combine for a shutout against the Brewers. Thompson was the Marlins second of five first round picks in 2005 draft. He was selected behind Chris Volstad and was one of five pitchers chosen by the Marlins in that round including Ryan Tucker and Sean West. He was traded by the Marlins to the Nationals for Nick Johnson in 2009. Pittsburgh looks like a Mecca for former Marlins with Derrek Lee, Tim Wood, Chris Leroux and Chris Resop also having spent time with the surprising Buccos this season.

Cue the "Why do all the former Marlins suck here but prosper elsewhere?" line.

Dude, Why do all the former Marlins suck here but prosper elsewhere?

Whats up with that?
