Very Good Article About Beinfest By Le Batard

Featured Replies

I hate the fixation on the first round. Morrison and Stanton weren't first round and both look to be outstanding offensive players for more than a decade.

Johnson wasn't first round and he is a bonafide ace (if he could stay healthy at least)

It is only the evaporation of talent from the top that makes our farm look bad. How awesome would the team's farm look with Cabrera and Uggla filling 2 of the gaping offensive holes? How about if the team signed one of the super-hot FA pitchers (or perhpas 2 of them like Philly has)?

I think the team is doing things the right way. Beinfest has been hadicapped, so it's really unfair to put so much blame on him. But reorginazation was/is needed. They brought in Marty Scott to be VP of Player Devlopment, moved Stan Meek to basically oversee the first year player draft, and moved Jim Fleming to Special Asst. to Prez of Baseball Operations (basically working with Admin). Scott is the biggest move, IMO. He brings alot of experience and success to the table.

IMO, this is fixing what is wrong instead of pointing fingers and making firings just to fire someone or appease a disgruntled arm chair GM fan base.

Come to think of it....This reorginazation happened long before Dan's article. Wonder why he never even touched on it??? Oh yea, didn't fit his rant.

also impressed to see that dan is ignorant enough to write "anibel" and coughlan".

When I saw that I stopped reading. As a journalist you can at the very least know how to spell the names of players in your article or it just looks shoddy and poorly researched (as if he copied and pasted it from somebodies blog). The correct spelling is especially important when those players play for your LOCAL TEAM.

This article, no matter what his opinion is is officially crap.
