Eh... seconds are dramatically shorter than days. By identifying the month first you already have a feel for what time of year it is, just like the hour and then the minutes.

 

I'd totally be okay with the nonexistent format of YY/MM/DD as well.

Surely you should know what time of year it is, unless you've been in a coma. When you say the date you say the 21st of September for example. Oh i forgot you don't do that either.
