October 31, 201113 yr Author Wow, I had no idea how terrible his contract was. He had a great year in 2008, but for some reason the Braves thought it was worth it to pay him 4/$60MM at age 36. He's given them a fair amount of innings, but his numbers have been nowhere near worth that much cash. I'm curious as to who will be picking up his 2012 salary.
October 31, 201113 yr Braves get back a Class A lefty reliever and still have to pay $10 million of Lowe's salary
October 31, 201113 yr Wait, doesn't this belong in the offseason thread? Didn't you start a thread for La Russa's retirement? :hammer

October 31, 201113 yr damn i was hoping they would keep him around. and dont forget that he was very good with the dodgers so not surprising he got a big contract.
October 31, 201113 yr Author Wait, doesn't this belong in the offseason thread? Thanks for thinking of making that thread but I don't like one thread for an entire off-season. It'll lead to making it difficult to find anything and also lead to only 1 active topic in the MLB forum. No need for one really. If this message board only had 1 forum then I could see it, but there is a dedicated MLB forum. I see no problem with a new thread for even a minor thing such as Sizemore's option declined. It's what the MLB forum is here for anyway. and dont forget that he was very good with the dodgers so not surprising he got a big contract. Braves got some nice salary relief considering that big contract.
October 31, 201113 yr First trade of probably a very busy season. I wonder who will be our first in or out :mis2 :pumpkin
