I don't know what to think personally, I'm leaning towards saying "get over yourself woman!" But not certain. Want to hear what others have to say first.

I'm not sure why there would be a reaction here besides "Let the girl play."

No I don't think she should be upset.

I think she's more upset probably because her daughter is [most likely] upset. I'm not a father yet, but I'd have to imagine seeing your child upset is one of the worst feelings in the world. So, in other terms, I think she personally shouldn't be upset, but for the sake of her daughter, yes she should. They have to know or believe you're on their side and that starts off very young.

True. However, I can see both sides of this coin, on one hand this is a good chance to teach the girl that life isn't fair and it will have it's disappointing moments. on the other hand, she's only seven. Just a silly issue all around.
