December 1, 200322 yr He just won a World Series with THIS team, THIS team has treated him like their best player the best 6 seasons, THESE fans love him, THIS team is offering the same amount of money as the other team yet he still has to "think about." Can anyone explain to me why he'd want to go with the Cubs anyway?
December 1, 200322 yr To be honest, as much as I like Castillo and all, I don't think he really wants to stay a Marlin (and folks have said this a million times in here already). The more I read, the more I believe it's true. I don't know, maybe there's something going on behind the scenes that we don't know about.
December 1, 200322 yr I have no idea either. From the rumors & reports I've read, neither Chicago or NY are offering significantly more than what the Marlins are. Why he would leave a good situation I can't figure out. He stated more than once during the season that he wouldn't mind playing with Renteria again in St. Louis, and also that he was through with 1-year deals. That tells me he's unhappy, but I figured as soon as Florida floated out a long-term deal, he'd be pleased with it. Well here's your four year deal. You just won a World Series, what's the problem here? I think most likely he's just holding out as long as possible to see how much teams are willing to add to the deal.
December 1, 200322 yr If he's gonna be that way with the Fish I say screw him. I don't think it's fair to say that about Castillo. Like I said, we don't know what's REALLY going on behind the scenes. Maybe he doesn't get along with Beinfest, for example. Maybe he's just not really happy in this team, period. We just don't know, or maybe he just wants to keep his options open. I don't understand him either, but if Castillo wants to leave and see what else is out there, good for him and I wish him the best.
December 1, 200322 yr Author I see it this way. If you're not with us, you're against us. Especially if he goes with the Cubs or Mets.
December 1, 200322 yr Uber, I am sorry but I have to disagree with you on this one. Honestly, the way I see it is that the players go for whatever option is best for them (more money? home town team? God only knows...). If Castillo feels happier playing with the Cubs, the Red Sox, or whoever he pleases, fine. You can't say he's against us if you don't know.

It is not for us to judge Luis for his decisions.
December 1, 200322 yr Author You people are so damn soft. It's not like Castillo has been saying the club isn't treating him good. And every dynasty has to start somehow. It's not like every team averaged 30,000+ fans in their first 10 years of existence. We will get our fans so stop with that 15,000 crap.
December 1, 200322 yr Soft, nothing, Ubi. We're just telling you like it is. It's not our fault that you won't accept it.
December 1, 200322 yr It's not like Castillo has been saying the club isn't treating him good. Exactly. We don't know so we can't judge.
December 1, 200322 yr I hope he stays. Having him with Juan at the top of our line up is what made us so dangerous all season long.
December 1, 200322 yr I also dont get Uggy. Castillo and Uggyy had a great season and right after the Championship they want to leave? Well i hope they can both stay, and get another Ring.
December 1, 200322 yr Personally i don't think Uggy should be as high on the list as Lowell, Pudge and Castillo.
December 1, 200322 yr I also dont get Uggy. Castillo and Uggyy had a great season and right after the Championship they want to leave? Well i hope they can both stay, and get another Ring. Our FO hasn't even called Uggy's agent. He can't come back if they do not offer him a contract
December 1, 200322 yr 15.000 fans??????? hey home boy..... alot of us were apart that 15.000 before you hopped on the bandwagon..... the way i see it, Louie has a deal, he hasnt taken it, im not sure if he has said anything about it..... his agents have been doing most the talking well he is in the dominican f***ing some hoez and sipping some ripple..... the 9 player deal between Mil and Arz..... Spivey is making 2.7 mil and the brewers have Kiieth Ginter there.. so there going to deal Spiveys a** to some team to get a little better..... if Louie's Contract talk gets outta hand..... f*** em, go after spivey, its not like Spivey is a bad player he has skills even thou he was injured most last year..... and with the $$$$$ we save off not signing Loiue we can go after getting Pudge back.. and if he is the same way like Louie than f*** him to..... there are alot good free agents out there that arent gonna see mega dollarz..... and can play more than there value
