November 21, 201213 yr Not a big Ryan Raburn fan, but, he would definitely get a lot of P.T. on the Marlins in 2013. Let's be realistic here.....the Marlins do need a starting 3B as they are going to flip Yunel Escobar. At worst, Raburn could platoon with Dobbs at 3B. Not an ideal situation.
November 21, 201213 yr I totally forgot we still had Greg Dobbs on the team. The way it's looking he'll be second on the team in HR's with 8
November 21, 201213 yr I don't think a declining Raburn is going to solve anything. That OPS probably ain't trending up in Marlins Park...
November 21, 201213 yr He had a .224 .BABIP last year, a career-low by quite a lot. Safe to say he's nowhere near 2012 bad.
November 21, 201213 yr He had a .224 .BABIP last year, a career-low by quite a lot. Safe to say he's nowhere near 2012 bad. He may not be, it's possible there was something else going on we don't know about. It's also possible, like someone else pointed out, that he is on a downward spiral for 4 years in a row and that trying to hit in Marlins Park isn't going to help him.
November 21, 201213 yr I think that if we look at things that way, we're not going to like any signings. We're not signing big free agents. Whoever we sign will have obvious flaws that they will have to overcome. I say look at the pros instead of the cons. He has some power and provides some versatility. If it doesn't work out, we didn't risk anything long-term, anyway.
