Has anyone seen or heard how HA's velocity has been this spring?

I'm not concerned too much with velocity, personally, as long as he's getting outs, sir.

The one game of his I watched his sinking fastball looked great, but still it's not really a strikeout kind of pitch.

He's always had a really good 2-seam/sinker. His velocity doesn't need to go up, he averages right in the mid 90's. Just needed to miss more bats. Maybe he was a victim of too many strikes? Wouldn't be the first time.

 

Anyway, Marisnick now 2-for-2 with a double. Batting .459. Can't send him down, no way.

Well technically he sits in the low 90s but can dial it up to 95/96. I wonder if he's using his change up more in spring.

 

Well Bender you'll be happy to know i am mildly excited about HA these days... I actually just picked him up in a dynasty fantasy league I'm in..Will probably only start him at home for now.

Be that as it may, doesn't look like that's going to happen.

Alvarez did get a good number of ground balls, I'll say that, but he also got hit hard a lot - most of those outs were sharply hit, just right at someone.

He has twice as many Ks as hits ... he needs some AA time definitely. Or AAA. The power hitting and confidence could return in the PCL.
