Actually, the Scott Olson comparison to Heaney is not fair. Olson actually started out pretty good and had double digit wins his first year. Heaney is starting out like a different Marlins lefty, Andrew Miller, LOL. But I don't think he will suck as bad as Miller sucked. In fact, I really believe that Heaney will be fine in the long run. But I do not think he will be an Ace pitcher anytime soon. A good #3 or maybe a #2 someday. He just needs to learn how to pitch up here, and he seems pretty sharp, so I think he'll figure it out eventually.

Nobody here has said Heaney would be an ace. We've always said a solid 2 starter, especially behind Jose. If Kolek can develop properly, then maybe Heaney drops down to the 3 spot in a couple years.

I just want to point out how ridiculously good Chad Wallach has been in Greensboro this year. He's batting .350 now with nearly twice as many walks as strikeouts.

I don't trust Greensboro. :( But it is good to see!

Now that kid is going to be great, Yelich. Deitrich? Who knows? Yelich is a sure bet, though. Not only does he hit, he's also wise beyond his years. Look at all the walks he draws. He knows what he's supposed to do as a lead off hitter. I believe that if he didn't get hurt the Fish would be over .500 now. Losing him hurt this team big time.

I agree that Greensboro is obviously early, it's not like I'm calling him the next Ty Cobb. Just that it's funny that he was one of the most criticized picks of last year's draft and he looks like the biggest diamond so far.

Another reason to never judge draft picks before getting to see them play.

I never said you said that. I just don't trust Greensboro. Hitters park. But, like I said, it is nice to see.

.350 is .350.

Way to go Deitrich. He's lucky they really have nobody else right now with Hech hurt or he'd be on his way back to NOLA.

Kinda ironic since he looks like a high schooler.

Oh I know you said I said you said he said I said you said that we said that. I'm just always like to let people on the board who might not otherwise follow the minors about a guy who has busted out to the point of taking notice this year.

You said that?

Funny how many people are backing away from Heaney now, saying they never expected great things from him. Now I am fairly new here so I can't say what everyone on this board was saying all year. But I read a lot of different boards. And on most boards there were many unhappy guys that Heaney didn't make the team out of spring training and the second Jose got hurt they were screaming for Heaney to come up here and save the day. Now if you guys were not among those who were going Heaney-crazy and demanding he be brought up to save the Fish, fine, I believe you, ok? LOL

Explain?

His daddy is Tim Wallach, former MLB Player and current Dodgers bench coach.

For the last time, please stop equating what you hear from other "boards", "sources", or whatever and placing it like it was said by this board. There are plenty of archives within this forum that you can put in the word "Heaney" and find the opinions many of us have had about Heaney over the last two years.
