I got my bro and dad tix for tomorrow. Better win,

We've gotten fucked in this series worse than Paul George's leg.

Edit: I'm just being an ass. That injury really sucked.

Thank the graces above that the teams in front of us are losing.

Debate is a stretch. It was me talking to a moron incapable of making an intelligent point.

Yea, that's right. It had nothing to do with you refusing facts as truth. BABIP, all luck, nothing else! Speed and hard contact have nothing to do with it. /sarcasm

Just FYI, nobody here got involved because they knew you were wrong but fear publicly agreeing with me. Just so you know.

Not even close to true.

Not even close to true.

I provided you direct evidence, written by smarter men than me, that speed irrefutably effects BABIP. Whether you care to admit you were wrong for once is up to you, but it's proven fact. I really hope someone here will simply stand up and corroborate this.

You did nothing of the sort.

You realize neither one of those articles proves your point at all right? They are both about adding a speed metric to existing BABIP #s.

You are hopeless.

Let me ask you a question. You seem like a smart guy. Why on earth would anybody consider factoring speed into BABIP if it didn't have a direct effect on it? It's just logic. If two players hit a ball the same velocity to the same spot, but one of them gets down the line at 4.0 seconds and the other at 4.8 seconds, of course the player at 4.0 seconds has a better opportunity of being safe, thus creating the possibility of having a higher batting average on balls in play.

You claim speed has zero to do with BABIP, but that's clearly wrong. Why can't you admit that you were wrong?

At least my former college classmate won for the Reds. And Coconut Creek High alum.

When my brother played for PBCC he got to face him, said he was definitely the best pitcher he had ever seen in the batters box at the time.

Would have been cooler if he was a drinking buddy and you had once boned his girlfriend.

Way to ignore my response entirely. I'll take your silence as "I finally admit I might have been wrong".

Quit it you two fucks.... Atleast me and Penguin boy only got at it once a week.

It's the same shit everyday.

And not the good, soft serve Squal shit we all know and love.

No, I just realized you simply have no idea what you are talking about and it is no longer worth my energy to tell you why you are wrong if you refuse to even attempt to comprehend it.

Please... PLEASE... Simply debate me on this:

"If two players hit a ball the same velocity to the same spot, but one of them gets down the line at 4.0 seconds and the other at 4.8 seconds, of course the player at 4.0 seconds has a better opportunity of being safe, thus creating the possibility of having a higher batting average on balls in play."

Why doesn't this make sense to you? It's basic math. Like, so basic even I can do it. Please, respond directly to that quote.

On a seperate note, does that make sense to ANYBODY ELSE ON THIS BOARD? Please, responses are welcome.

I think BABIP only factors in the outcome, not the mitigating circumstances that got to the outcome.

As in, it's out/safe and that's it. You can run to 1B in two seconds but if you hit it at the 1B who is already on the bag- your out.

Speed kills, but it's irrelevant when factoring in BA and BABIP.

Yes it helps get you on base, but if you don't hit it right your going to be left with squalls soft serve shit all over your hands.

You're taking the scenario I built out of context. These two hypothetical players hit the same ball at the same velocity to the same fielder, but one runs 0.8 seconds faster. The second player has the obvious advantage to, for instance, beat the same throw to first.
