now make a thread on off topic if you feel like sharing, since we did give you input... :thumbup

Why do you even try?

Let me ask you something, where was Lowell when the pennant race came down to the wire? That is right, on the bench. How many big time plays did Conine make? I can tell you this, he was a pivotal reason why the Marlins made it to the playoffs.

And remember, Lowell didnt really even play in the beginning of the playoffs. That is not to say Lowell isnt IMPORTANT, no, he is the best 3B in baseball - and I have been arguing that for a long time now, up against those Rolen lovers (who have seem to go bye bye...). That said, Lowell is not the leader of this team - Conine is. He is a vet that leads by example, much like Dutch was back in '97. There are important players on this team - like Pierre whose hard work is infectious. Lowell and his overcoming of cancer too and the fact he is a class act. But Conine is Mr. Marlin - it is like the return of an old gunslinger. He proved his worth and led this team - quietly - into a 2nd championship.

Mike Lowell is undoubtedly the leader of the Florida Marlins, and you are an ignorant fool to believe otherwise. And this may not be too much of a stretch, but I'm sure it has something to do with being the only true bilingual (sp) player.

And Redman? Great guy, hardnose pitcher, love him. But I would be hesitant to call him the leader of this team. Especially when he struggled mightily in the playoffs.

I would be hesitant to call him THE leader of this team as well.

But he is without a doubt the leader of the pitching staff.

Glad to hear Boog will be back. :thumbup

Plus I agree with Wildcard, that Lowell is probably the leader of the team not Fudge.

come on!!! I know we're all pissed off because Pudge left us, and yes, we're dissapointed with his comments at the end, but in reality, we must acknowledge that he definitely was one of our key performers during our championship run. Instead of talking s*** about him all the time, let's recognize his achievments....that doesn't mean I'll root for him next time he steps in PPS, but let's cut all the bullcrap and be appreciative fans!

The acheivements of 2003 were of the team. Pudge had the largest moments because he came through in the playoffs, but during the season he didn't do as well.
