The team did extremely well last year and that alone will give him a longer leash to at least the end of the season unless the clubhouse situation catastrophically deteriorates. Secondly, they are only 1 game back from 3rd place and it's still only April. He has no chance of getting fired. A 7-12 record is certainly disappointing but not unheard of for a team with high expectations at the end of April.
