You can non-tender other guys, he was going to get renewed at the minimum but since they DFA'd him it was a formality to non-tender him. It is basically like a release.

You just typically only see it with arby eligible guys. If you don't non-tender an auto renewal, he'll auto-renew. Most times teams want to auto-renew those guys though.
