Exactly. We have lost two games to the best team in our division...hardly a disaster. Mets have only scored in 2 of 21 innings played thus far so they aren't exactly firing on all cylinders to start the year.

Case in point of last year. Started 5-11 but we were 9 games over at the end of July. People make so much more of the opening week or two since since it looks worse.

Wtf did you see how far he had to run to get to that ball? Yes it would have been great if he caught that but "not hustling" isn't the way to describe that play.

If Hech kicked the ball and slowly jogged after it, that'd be one thing. Hard to blame him for that play, there was a shift being used so he was out of position. I'd like to see the armchair managers here make that play or an even a routine play.

 

That being said, he's got to be the worst starting SS in MLB overall. Hard to believe he still is the everyday SS for any team in MLB. Not based off the TWO games this year, but off his career.

No, there's a difference. Fans can care plenty without overreacting to two games. It only gets blown out of proportion because it was to begin the season. If the fish lost on May 15 and 16th, it'd be two games too but it wouldn't be as big of a deal to some.

 

 

To be honest, I thought 2-4 would be a legit and respectable finish for this six-game road trip into DC and NY.  Still can do that or better like 3-3.  That would be more than ok to begin the year against two WS contenders in their stadiums when not at full strength (no Prado).

Correct my statement then, it'd be the same thing as two losses on May 15th and May 17th. 3 days, 2 losses. Meaningless when they play 162.

I think maybe the reasons we lost games hurt more,we lost due to the pen,defense and Straily,all supposed to our strengths.

I thought this series was going to be close regardless. If the Marlins win Game 1 everyone here is singing a different tune. Let the season play out before passing judgement. Let's get a win today and salvage the series. Just be thankful we are facing Gio Gonzalez instead of Scherzer.

Not saying the fish are WS contenders, they probably aren't But the point is, a lot can change in the next 160 games. They were in both games and could have won both games. We aren't talking about a team that lost 20-0 two games in a row.
