When he won reliever of the month in June, it was pretty clear it was time to sell. Plenty of teams wanted him then too. Even if you’re ok waiting until the 31st I’m pretty sure he still had a market then too. Teams are usually smarter to judge a player on just a couple of games. Barraclough has a track record of being pretty good. Whatever though, let’s just keep a reliever every time we’re bad. It continues to work so well.

Nobody's saying keeping the relievers is a good move - just that the fact that it happened doesn't necessarily mean the front office has an idiotic plan. Barraclough imploded; they most likely were looking to deal him for a quality return if they could have. It sucks that this happened this way, and I'm sure the front office recognizes it
