If they expand the playoffs again next year, that should cause even more teams to up the stakes. 

I don't think Jeter is cheap. I just think he has a different guy in mind.  I still would pay the difference for Kintzler though. 

You don't want to be buyers mid season next year just because you wanted to manage the payroll.  It's better to have now and trade latter.

Wasn't talking about you but there are plenty of others around here who still thinking increasing payroll for the sake of increasing payroll and aggressively "winning the offseason" is still the way to operate when plenty of teams have proven that wrong.
