He just needed to work on his mental approach. I think there have been several good statements here that may have led to that looking upward - Rowson's confidence enough in him to put him in the middle of the order, consistent playing time rather than platooning, and the departures of Duvall & Marte. All of those can/could've give him the confidence he needed to couple with halfway decent fundamentals.

He got the opportunity to play pro ball based on raw talent. He hasn't gotten the opportunity for a prolonged stint in MLB because he hasn't developed that raw talent. I think everybody is rooting for him, for obvious reasons. But raw talent only gets you so far.
