July 18th Marlins vs Royals

Featured Replies

Game one of three to open up the 2nd half.

Sandy Alcantara vs Seth Lugo. On paper it looks like a mismatch. Lugo has been their 2nd best starter after Bubic. Their pitching staff has been a strength this year. Outside of Witt Jr, Garcia, and Pasquantino, their lineup is unimposing. Big reason why they were the lowest scoring team in the AL in the 1st half. Won't be as easy as just putting Witt Jr, and Garcia on though as they do have good wheels.

This Royals team kind of reminds me of the Marlins from a few years ago. They have some dawgs in the pitching staff, and have 2 or 3 decent hitters that have been good, but not elite this year, but the rest of their lineup is full of black holes so they rank at the bottom in most team offensive categories.

Great start on offense. I missed the top of the 1st. How did Sandy look?

It’s weird. The pitches look good, lots of movement and velo there, then he leaves a few down the middle. He’s getting hit very hard.

Is he tipping his pitches?

Unfortunately the Giants aren't on the schedule for the rest of the year otherwise the universe might implode if there was an Alcantara-Verlander matchup. The movable force versus the resistible object.

Holy crap.

Kyle Stowers with the Chavez-Meldrick Taylor finish.

We snatched defeat from the jaws of victory and then snatched it right back.

Somebody get Stowers a $1 hot dog!
