3 straight fastballs down middle looking vs swinging at 3 pitches nowhere near the zone is interesting comparison.

Rewatched the morel AB @FishFan95 and you’re right. Those pitches were right down broadway.

They signed that guy over o Hearn or murakami too

Not just right down the middle. He flinched 3 times. Which means he thought the pitch down the middle might hit him...

Max is on fire. He has great stuff today. He's been our second best pitcher this year.

The problem Is there’s like 4 actual big league hitter in this lineup right now

BTW, to put the Cade Gibson stuff into perspective. Barely more than a week ago, the Marlins pulled Junk at 56 pitches with just 1 hit and one walk allowed before he could face a guy who is batting sub mendoza a 2nd time. Last night they allowed a reliever at 42 pitches, who had given up 3 hits, walked a guy and hit a guy, face a batter who has freqently been used as a platoon bat vs lefties and already had a hit off of Gibson a second time in a 1 run game.

Not to mention the bullpen was fully rested. No idea who’s making the calls but they’re clearly not from someone actually trying to win games

Yeah, but we have to be patient with Marsee and Caissie. I think once Stowers comes around, this lineup will be much better.

I'm really concerned with Gus though. He hits too many grounds balls and has a long swing. He's shown very little power this season, so far.

Marsee at least is great on bases and plays good defense. There is a big chance he’s a .650 ops guy thought.

caissie looks beyond lost

I will take a .650 OPS guy if he give you a .325 OBP and provides a lot of value on the bases and on defense.

If someone told you that Gus and X would be in the lineup every day and would have the same number of homers in early May, what would you have said?

Gus ability to walk is encouraging but everything about him looks pretty bad cause as swamp ass says everything in the dirt.

He still has elite bat speed which the analytics nerds love so he ain’t going anywhere

While the walk and chase rates are down. The strikeout and whiff rates are up. He is actually swinging the bat harder than last year, but the hard hit rate is way down. I think the organization is stressing plate discipline so he is more hesitant on which pitches to swing at and is just out of rythm.
