Posted January 16, 200421 yr http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=fanb...nball&type=lgns Marlins: Cabrera to bat third by Fanball Staff - Fanball.com Friday, January 16, 2004 News Manager Jack McKeon offered up the Marlins' potential batting order for 2004, and outfielder Miguel Cabrera was slated to hit in the third spot, the Miami Herald reported. McKeon is also thinking about using third baseman Mike Lowell in that slot. "Flip a coin," McKeon said, "But I'll probably go for Cabrera third and Lowell fourth." As far as the other parts of the lineup, outfielder Juan Pierre and second baseman Luis Castillo will continue to hit first and second, and outfielder Jeff Conine will fill the fifth hole. First baseman Hee Seop Choi is slated for the sixth spot, followed by catcher Ramon Castro (or Mike Redmond) and shortstop Alex Gonzalez.

What are you talking about? Yea but all have an potiental to hit .270 or less That's the worst case scenario. If Castro can hit for the contact he showed in the minors, he could very well hit .280+. If Choi takes advantage of the spacious gaps with that great gap power, I'll throw out that same .280 number. And Gonzalez has shown he has the TALENT to hit, what did you say? .280?

Yes, but Castro will not his more then .275.. Choi is not ready for the MLB.. And Alex i dunno what to say about him..
January 16, 200421 yr Alex can hit .280 if he is well rested after 3-4 months off AKA month of April and May 2003 power romp!!! But seriously, I think we have a solid lineup INCLUDING Choi, though he is not well MLB tested, who every is when youre a rookie all he needs is a chance to shine and if it doesnt happen we'll be ready to make changes cause WE GOT THE BEST FO IN THE BIZ.
January 17, 200421 yr Thats a good place for Cabs. He is a rookie and shouldnt have all the pressure on him in his first full season. Batting 4th is a big task that Lowell has handled before. Keep him 3rd batter.
January 17, 200421 yr Marlins: Cabrera to bat third The 20-year-old Cabrera surprised many people with his play in 2003, and now he'll occupy a very friendly spot in the Marlins' lineup. Some scouts have gone as far as to rate Cabrera ahead of the Cardinals' Albert Pujols, and while we're not ready to give this kid that much fantasy value, we believe Miguel can hit.280, drive in 100 runs, score 90 runs, and hit 20-25 homers next season. He should also qualify at third base, which is always a useful fantasy tool.
January 17, 200421 yr Dude Alex cannot hit 8th. why not? Because hitting 8th is his problem. He would be better suited hitting ninth instead of 8th, because then Juanpy would be behind him and he would have pitches to hit. He gets bad pitches at the 8 spot, and being the impatient person he is he swings at them and usually things that aren't very good arise from it.
