el duque wants to come to..
Nice to hear, I called this El Duque possibility a while ago....Nice to hear that it might go through!

Miguel Cabrera
Alex can hit .280 if he is well rested after 3-4 months off AKA month of April and May 2003 power romp!!! But seriously, I think we have a solid lineup INCLUDING Choi, though he is not well MLB tested, who every is when youre a rookie all he needs is a chance to shine and if it doesnt happen we'll be ready to make changes cause WE GOT THE BEST FO IN THE BIZ.

AJ Burnett returning early
I would have to say this is great news! I would hope the Marlins continue to keep the future in mind and dont rush AJ to starting anytime in April. If he wants to go relief then ok, but I hope he gets some minor league starts in April. With the whole stadium deal going down and etc, I hope the Marlins FO keep up their good work and team management and keep AJ stable and strong until he is positive he is ready to pitch in an MLB game situation. Cant wait till April!

Twins sign Helling
Rick is a great, durable picture. Im glad he has signed with the Twins and is near his family. I wish him the best of luck

Who should the Marlins sign?
I would have to say that the Santa's wishlist pick would be to sign Vlad. But realistically I think we are better off signing Sauerbeck and El Duque. We pretty much have our lineup set already, unless there is that all important surprise money.

Guys, look at this
I would have to agree, there have been numerous times that I have stayed home because I made the assumption that it was going to rain. There have also been days that I go to the ballpark with no thought of rain, and, it rains. Having the dome is just for mental comfort purposes for those fans that would otherwise stay home and watch the game. Now Im not saying that WE MUST GET A DOME, but if it is possible it would be a great way to get both: more season ticket buyers, and more impulse game visitors and fans. All I want in the end is a stadium that says MARLINS all over it, for God's sake we've won 2 World Series already! How about some respect from all these brown nosing politicians!

2004 Preview
I guess im also jumping the gun on getting Vlad!!! :w00t The man is....DA MAN. I still dont understand why everything surrounding him has been so under wraps. I guess thats a question to post in the Vlad thread...

2004 Preview
Again...I think we have the ability to jump the gun here on these message boards! Im glad to see it since that only solidifies the fact that we are all true, caring Marlins fans. It is clear though that our FO is commited, and we will already have a VERY competitive team put together. ST will show us who is ready and willing to play starting April, and if need be from today till then the FO has a few tricks up their sleeve I wouldnt doubt to add more strength to certain positions. Think of it like this: Choi - was acquired through trade = dispensable in 1st base therefore = We could get Vlad, move Cabrera to Left, have conine at 1st and Choi as backup! Creative thinking!

Pudge returning a possibility?
LATEST NEWS - December 31 - Previous News Ivan Rodriguez said yesterday that he hasn't ruled out re-signing with the Marlins, although it would mean that he'd have to sit out the first month of the season. With so few teams interested, Pudge is probably under orders from his agent not to eliminate any possibility. Rodriguez is probably going to end up with the Dodgers or Cubs, but a sleeper team could emerge. ===========Rotoworld========================== This is some funny stuff. Goes to show you what happens when you listen to others and not your heart. I still wish him well though...

Ramon Castro Winter League Update
What year was Ramon Castro drafted, and from where?

I talked to my pitching coach......
Forget about the gun kiddo..... I had labrum surgery in fall of my Senior year of high school before school started. I had been pitching since I was 9 yrs old. Since the gun has become almost the most important thing foolish coaches look at, I overworked my arm. Just pitch, make sure you exercise right, eat right, and long toss as much as you pitch and you'll be good... Good luck!

PTBNL for Redman
Nice a strong LHP....sweet deal

9-10 mil to spend.....
odom006, Great post! I totally forgot that Juan Gone is available... I have a freakin card collection of the guy, I think I should keep up with what hes doing :banghead I dunno if there will be a necc. to pick any outfielders up if its not Vlad...but we'll see what Beinfest is up to... As far as the bullpen is concerned...it would do us much good to have a long relief pitcher available in the pen such as Hernandez, or Moss....it saved our butts in the WS with Pavano and could be a huuuuuuge help throughout a regular season. As long as we dont sign Dennis Rodman to a minor league contract and Darryl Strawberry as our daycare sitter/hitting coach, we will be more than fine with the job the FO has done!!!

I'm beginning to lose faith in the FO...
El Duque - 2 yr $5-6 mill to play in Miami....sounds good to me i that from a source or just your estimate? No source...just throwing out possibilities on the relief situation...
