January 8, 200422 yr id say el duque and mondesi ... but of course id rather have Vlad in my team, but i dont see that happening ... Galarraga would be a nice fit here although i havent heard of the Fish trying to go after him. does anyone remember that we had Galarragas brother or cousin or something in our farm system? ... is he still playing ball ... is he still in our system? ...
January 8, 200422 yr Obviously it would be Vlad but it looks like our chances of signing him are done. I'd go with Mondesi and El Duque. A nice 5th starter and a nice OF to have and have a platoon between Conine him and Choi.
January 8, 200422 yr Vlad is obviously the no brainer (and who i voted for) But, a little bit more realistically, i'd say Mondesi and El Duque That would give us a veteran outfielder (no matter how crazy he is, at least he can somewhat play baseball), and a very reliable fifth starter for if/when AJ comes back. Also, i think el duque would really thrive in a latin environment like miami, he would feel right at home- he'd be good, as long as he doesn't have any injuries.

January 9, 200422 yr I would have to say that the Santa's wishlist pick would be to sign Vlad. But realistically I think we are better off signing Sauerbeck and El Duque. We pretty much have our lineup set already, unless there is that all important surprise money.
