Twins sign Helling

Featured Replies

LATEST NEWS - January 13 - Previous News

Twins signed RHP Rick Helling to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training. Although Helling might still be useful as a middle reliever, he's no longer capable of helping a quality team as a starting pitcher. The Twins will give him a chance to win a rotation spot, but they need to keep looking for upgrades.

big day for ex-Fish pitchers

It makes a lot of sense for Rick to sign with the Twins. He's orginally from North Dakota. His father lives in Fargo, about 240 miles from the Twin Cities. His mother and 2 sisters live in the Twin Cities. And he's building a house in the area.

According to the Mpls.Star Tribune, if Rick makes the team, he will have a base salary of $600,000 with another $600,000 in incentives.

this is 1 guy i wanted to see come back to the fish...he can start or come out of the pen...good luck with the twins man...

Damn i wanted Rick to keep pitching for us. He was really good the whole season with us and was very valuable when it came to long relief.

Rick is a great, durable picture. Im glad he has signed with the Twins and is near his family. I wish him the best of luck
