January 26, 200422 yr http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1692140 DETROIT 12th??? MARLINS 15th????? WTF??????????
January 26, 200422 yr Does anyone even listen to these reports nowadays anyways? Haven't we learned not to pay any attention to these after last year?
January 26, 200422 yr Author Granted it's based on offseason moves, but did the Tigers really bolster their team (Pudge not counted)
January 26, 200422 yr Everybody take a look at that Sosa quote next to the Cubs offseason rating. Sosa saying "this is the first time i've started lifting in December." I find this very odd, and this quote I think could be thought of as almost a confession to taking steroids. Because Sosa is HUGE, and there is NO WAY this guy got that big just lifting weights when until now, he has NEVER started lifiting as early as even December.
January 26, 200422 yr "this is the first time ive started lifting in december...thought i could help out the 'medication' a little."
January 26, 200422 yr how did the mets creep into #7? a japanese shortstop and mike cameron had that big of an impact? or how is expecting big things from the former #2 pick overall (beckett) who broke out in the 2nd half last season unrealistic?
January 26, 200422 yr DETROIT 12th??? MARLINS 15th????? WTF?????????? Why not? These aren't power rankings - they're rating off-season moves. The Tigers probably have done better to improve themselves since the end of the season. They've improved from historically terrible to simply terrible. We've gotten worse, going from the best team in baseball down to a good solid team who has a good shot at the postseason. We're still better than the Tigers. The Twins are ranked 27th. This is not a poll of relative strength to each other, just what each team has done compared to where they ended last season. We've gotten a little worse since the end of last season - any team that has stayed the same or gotten better will be ranked higher than us according to the parameters of the poll. Sometimes I think we're just too damn sensitive. I gotta admit I don't understand the Trend column. The Orioles are ranked forth because they added a lot of people but the Trend is Neutral.
January 26, 200422 yr Granted it's based on offseason moves, but did the Tigers really bolster their team (Pudge not counted) Rondell White Al Levine Carlos Guillen Fernando Vina Pablo Ozuna Bobby Estalella Jason Johnson Greg Norton yes they did
January 26, 200422 yr At least they've got the Braves 3 spots below us. But to put the Tigers, Rangers, Mets, Blue Jays, Royals and Giants ahead of us......it's ludicrous.
January 26, 200422 yr But to put the Tigers, Rangers, Mets, Blue Jays, Royals and Giants ahead of us......it's ludicrous. tell me why
January 26, 200422 yr Castro and Cabrera have some good power, but so do Rondell White, Dmitri Young...oh yeah the marlins are better.

You can't just inject yourself with steroids and wait for them to take effect, you know. In order for steroids to work, you must work out as well. They make you bigger than what a normal workout would do for you. But you can't just inject yourself with a needle and hope for it to take effect like an asprin with a headache.

First of all, no logic allowed when i'm dissing the cubs! But second, don't taking steroids make you bigger than regular lifting, and make you get bigger FASTER?? Yeah, so I think this comment was a major hiccup by Sammy, but nobody will notice, because Sammy gets away with everything and IMO is the biggest scam artist baseball has seen in decades, if not ever.
January 26, 200422 yr Mags you are one crazy Cubs fan Yeah, I know :lol And :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup 3 thumbs up for 2,000 posts! :cool

January 26, 200422 yr sammy sosa in a shameless scummer (corking bat, steroid use, charity fraud...) I don't watch 162 cub games a year, but you can notice Sosa by watching baseball tonight getting bigger and smaller all the time. It's extremely noticeable! It's so obvious he is taking steroids it is not funny. The noly evidence lackinging is a positive test and a picture of him sticking a needle in his butt. But then again sammy might contend he uses that needle only for "exhibitions" to give the fans a show. As sammy said, "That's not the bat I use all the time, that's the bat I use for cheating." okay, I made up the quote.

This guy is one of the biggest scam artists of our time, and it's so obvious he's on steroids, and the cork was no accident, and he's a jerk of a person in reality, but his smile and backgroud and team he's on fools people. I just hope that one day he is exposed as the no good jerk off that he is.
January 26, 200422 yr but dude, he has been totally exposed, but no one cares! short of catching him sticking himself of a needle, I don't see how else his scumminess can be further confirmed.
January 26, 200422 yr Wow, that's some serious spamming you did dood. :lol Sorry, just thought it was great how you threw the Pubes reference in there...
