Top Five Pitchers Under 25 Years Old

Featured Replies

At least Beckett had the balls to pitch on three days rest when his team needed him - unlike that b***h, Jason Schmidt, who didn't take the mound when Felipe needed him.

:hat

:lol :lol

*still waiting for Schmidt's awesome Game 5 outing*

he wasn't even asked

i don't understand how beckett? has one fluke outing and everyone overates him now

yeah 2.11 postseason ERA, not to mention an ERA of 2.50 in the 2nd half of the season. what a fluke. 2-2 in the postseason. That's what matters OK, no it doesn't you f***ing moron. Here are two reasons why your arguement is lower than the toilet paper I used to whipe my ass after I take a s***.

A) Win-Loss record means S.H.I.T. Want to know why? Because they have more to do with your team's offense then with the pitcher himself. Who is the better pitcher, the one that throws a two hitter and loses the game 1-0 or the one that gives up 7 runs on 15 hits but wins 9-7? I think the answer is pretty obvious.

B) Hmm, postseason record of 2-2 ehh? Well, what's Sabathia's? Yeah, thought so. For that matter, what's Schmidt's? How many World Series MVPs does he have? Yeah, thought so.

A. A really good pitcher only gives up 7 runs when his team scores 8 or more. A win is a win, and that's what matters.

ERA is mainly reliant on the teams defense and the ballpark. The Marlins have a much better defense than Cleveland and play in a much easier park for pitchers.

B. Schmidt is 3-1 in the postseason (his team is 5-1 in games he starts) and that only loss was because of manny aybar), Sabathia is 1-0

So, by your logic, Sabathia blows, because Beckett has more wins in the playoffs!

And I cannot believe you are going to take a pitcher that gives up 7 runs and wins over a pitcher that gives up 2 hits and loses. Any credibility you had with anyone else probably died right there.

potential means nothing. Beckett's got the talent but he doesn't get the job done enough.

Quote of the day, or Quote of the Year?

ERA is a lot more reliant on defense and the ballpark than W-L record is reliant on the offense

fluke shmook,

who battled your boy Schmidt in game 1 pitch for pitch?

come on you cant be that one sided to not give him ANY respect...

Beckett's as talented as anyone and there's a good chance he will be star, but he's still unproven

well he is our "Unproven" ace and he has a ring...

Until he can play a full season without getting injured and win 15 games at least, he's still unproven.

and to show you an example of how meaningless WS MVP is, remember who it was the last time you guys won a world series.

no argument here

so now Livan hasnt proven to be a good pitcher either?

come on buddy,

i know fans are biased but jeez.

Schmidt 86 career wins

Livan 84 career wins

now i am not comparing the two because Schmidt is a far greater pitcher in my opinion but Livan is no bust. so your argument holds no grounds...

This ranking had nothing to do with who was proven. It was strictly a ranking of the best pitchers under 25. If it had anything to do with being proven Edwin Jackson would not be on the list.

seriously, one fluke outing and all of a sudden he's one of the best?

yea, hes a fluke alright. i guess being the #2 overall pick was also a fluke  , and hitting 99 MPH was a fluke  , and putting his balls on the table and winning in the biggest stages of baseball was a fluke

all i gotta say is, its amazing how how the pieces fall into the puzzle :o

Livo= garbage. He's the kind of pitcher that when you find out he's pitching for your team, your reaction is oh s***, that's a loss

Livo= garbage. He's the kind of pitcher that when you find out he's pitching for your team, your reaction is oh s***, that's a loss yet he's averaged almost 15 wins a year over the last 4 years. :mischief2
