this is roger's surface - i'm amazed nadal made it this far, but there were a lot of upsets early and it kind of cleared the path - both semifinal matches were lopsided i'm sure this makes roger feel better after those clay losses

  5. this is a far cry from wresting the stoppage was way too early - the first two elbows caught him good, but of the next 3 only 1 looked like it even grazed his head - they should of let it go another 10 seconds or so to see if shamrock was able to shake it (which he has done countless other times) it seemed like arlovski and silva had too much respect for each other - that plan wasn't the best for arlovski because of his reach difference - he did abandon the leg kicks (which seemed to have some affect) I do have a general question though - why don't some of these soft body guys hit each other in the gut when they are on the ground - in the one fight the dude was in his guard and from the mount the other guy was trying to set up a massive headshot - meanwhile he could of just shot straight down, drilled him in the sternum and given the soft stomach really devastated him

  8. yenta - you are right on as well one is a lack of parent involvement - and that goes beyond a discussion of sex - it has to do more with being available and knowing what your kids are up to - my wife used to teach at a school where there were a lot of 12 year old girls getting pregnant - often times they were the ones whose parents were working 2-3 jobs and never around - the girls would get their attention elsewhere (boys) and since no one is around to watch what is going on it's easy to take it to the next steps also there are still many religious organizations that preach that birth control is sin - the population my wife was teaching was heavy, devout catholics - they were willing to sin with the premarital stuff, but birth control would be just too much to me it's about responsibility - kind of like drinking and driving - in a perfect world teenagers wouldn't be drinking - but they are going to, so teach them to stay where they're at, not drive and be smart about it -same deal with sex - hope you decide not to, but if you do wear a rubber make birth control be the burden of both parties - educate about the rate of STDs that is out there - also take some of the embarassment away from masturbation a lot of the problem comes in that kids are just short sighted by nature - it's hard for them to figure out that life is long - on average the 12 year old kid has around 50-60 years left in them - don't blow the bulk of your life over a moment when your'e young The reason the Catholic Church supports abstinence is probably that whole thing dealing with the Bible and the Ten Commandments. even in the pre-marriage counseling the church requires you to do they reinforce that contraception is not to be used they only advocate using thermometers and cycle charts to figure out when the women is most likely to conceive and avoiding sex during that time frame they talked extensively about the pill being an abortifacients that does nothing but ruin your body (along with any IUD, etc) - they also spoke entensively about the unreliability of condoms and how it was unnatural
  9. small phone, large hands - first time in a year i've dropped this thing and it has to be in water tried it last night and it showed signs of life - disasembled the battery and back again while leaving it fllipped open and I think everything has dried out seems to be working today without a hitch - i'll have to monitor it over the course of the weekend, but so far it looks decent
  10. Soooo I kind of just dropped my phone into a pot of water - it completely submerged, but only for a few seconds - at first it looked like it was still on as I was wiping the water off, but then it went black and now it feels very warm - i've taken off the back and battery and hope that it was just the battery that fried does anyone have experience with this or do I have to add my cell phone as casualty # 2 this week along with the iPod?
  11. thank you sir

i really don't like this program - my wife loves it - i think I have to boycott any program with a character named "McDreamy" out of pure principle - I can't stand Sandra Oh and overall I find the entire show to be annoying (then again, I never liked any of the other hospital shows either)

  17. i don't think she needed the boobs, but still fine
  18. I'm late on this as well but want to throw my weight behind deadwood - this program just keeps getting better also a program that isn't listed above is Veronica Mars - it's kind of corny & light, but it is highly entertaining - i don't know anyone who has watched a couple without liking it - my wife used to give me crap for liking it, then we got disc one off blockbuster online and she then went out and bought the first season
  19. yeah .. i was flipping through my brothers wifes gossip mag and saw her with Leo - she's definitely fine
  20. if the topics weren't important to the at some of the nation, then there would be no reason to put them up for political gain also, anytime an amendmen to the constitution it's important to everyone - if you agree with it or not i don't agree with teh amendments and feel they have no purpose to be anywhere near the consitution - but if the whole populus thought this way, the issue would of never of been presented
  21. cleveland stadium is actually pretty nice - the rock hall was a lot of fun as well - if you have a full day off and the weather is nice, i love put-in-bay - also, the football hall of fame is a good bet and not that long of a drive i enjoyed visiting cleveland - went there to watch the seahawks play in 2001
  22. i thought I read the mets on that list as well
  23. would be neat - but I imagine it would be hard to keep a good natural outdoor surface there - would require a lot of work to the stadium

Wade, out of the 3, is the coolest under pressure. That guy was out of his mind in these playoffs, but overall talent I would take Lebron. Both come across as less arrogant that Kobe as well, but this is a discussion on talent, not personality. i thought the question was who is the best ballplayer, not who is the most talented ballplayer
  25. this actually angers me as my city in AZ is trying to build a park, they have the money & land ready to go, they just need to snag two teams to play there - a lot of the stadiums out here are shiny, nice and new and AZ is making a strong play at stealing spring training teams - especially given how many midwestern people we have living here, the size of the metro, the tourist bent of the city and that aside from tucson, most parks are well less than an hour away from each other
