Wait so they were gonna swap Meyer for Marsh but it didn’t even pop in their heads to go get a controllable PROVEN OF in somebody like Ketel Marte? I seriously think there’s a huge eval flaw when it comes to evaluating hitters. They chose Duvall or Tyler Naquin and Hunter Renfroe. Both better career hitters. Refused to address our lack of bench depth. They draft hitters with high K rates and can’t develop prospects with clear, prominent hit tools in college( see Bleday and Burdick ). They value power in one of the biggest parks in baseball instead of OBP, average, and total bases. We need a change in our hitting philosophy and development.

I just don’t understand why we’re not adding on top of subtracting. We need a closer and Richard Rodriguez as control and doesn’t have the same value as others. We need a CF and haven’t even heard of something like an Eliesar/Ketel Marte swap or something of that nature.

There’s no way they’re gonna keep a 24 y/o guy hitting .340 in AAA that plays a corner when they just traded away a Corner OF. Lewis is going to get his ABs with Coop out. It’s obvious they like De La Cruz being that he was for Yimi and they cleared space for him.

Stop. This was obviously for De La Cruz, Sanchez, and probably Burdick to get burn up here together eventually.
