  1. All hustle from Sanoja. Love watching him play!
  2. Nick Fortes out of nowhere. Thankfully he shaved off that stupid mustache too.
  3. Last game for me for a while as tomorrow is early and then the West Coast blackouts start for me. Did the Anaheim-San Diego road trip several years ago and ended up staying in the same hotel as the Marlins. We were walking out as they were boarding the bus in Anaheim. Haven't been since the pandemic.
  4. Looks like Marcell Ozuna but if that was the case the bear would be holding a banana daiquiri not a banana.
  5. Luke Lashutka of Jupiter leads all of the minors with 6 wins which is remarkable considering he has only started one game (11 relief appearances). Lashutka was a 19th round pick out of St. Leo University. Most notable St. Leo players who made the majors are Bob Tewksbury and Jim Corsi.
  6. Jesus (Tinoco) dies and gets crucified in the 6th inning and then on the third inning later Jesus (Sanchez) rises up and saves the Marlins. Defeating the Cubs in the process thus proving the new Pope is a White Sox fan after all. 2025 timeline is crazy.
  7. Sandy-Eury-Weathers-Max-Cabrera should be a pretty solid rotation. Braxton Garrett hopefully will be back next year too. Bellozo and Mazur can fill in when needed. Quantrill was and is always a stopgap until Mazur or Snelling is ready. Gillispie never sees the mound in the majors without the injuries. There are still some holes in the lineup. 1B needs upgrading, 2B/SS sorting out, and the OF could use another quality bat or two. The upgrades at catcher have been massive (we have five legit catchers if you include Mack and defensive wizard Navarreto) as we suffered through the Stallings/Bethancourt all-time worst era. Nardi and Cronin should be back at some point too. The choice was between Luzardo and Cabrera and they shipped out Lizard because of his durability concerns. Outside of the aberration of 2023 neither has had a season over 100 ip (Luzardo had 100.1 ip one year so I am taking some liberties). If, and its a big if, Luzardo stays healthy then we can say it is a bad move. Too soon to tell though. The farm system has had such a massive upgrade that we can now think about long-term success. We've gone from guys like Jacob Berry and Kahlil Watson being our top prospects to legit top 100 guys and depth behind them. We've also gone from a nucleus of Jazz, Burger, Soler, Delacruz and Bell to a promising future of Agustin, Stowers, Norby, Sanoja, and Edwards all in one season or less. With more in the pipeline. The only feasible FA SP we could have gone with was Soroka and he signed elsewhere. There were no other guys the right side of 30 or even 35 that were signable so we went with Quantrill to buy time. The glass isn't half full, it's overflowing. Enjoy the ride.
  8. It ended well. Light the cruise ship! Leadoff Jesus player of the game! Stowers had one of his worst games but the rest of the young guns stepped up. Great plate discipline by the Snowman which was the winning run.
  9. Bullpen was going to regress. Feel like should have been Faucher instead of Tinoco warming up. Easy to say after the fact though.
  10. 2018, Elieser Hernandez and Brett Graves. Performing might be a stretch. Elieser is in Korea now and is unbelievably still just 29 years old.
  11. dang, Stowers just missed.
  12. Derek Hill is a nice defensive outfielder but his bat is a black hole and he should never be an everyday player in the lineup. At best, he's a late innings defensive sub.
  13. I'm sure there would be mutiny on this board but if they can't perform half-decent I wonder what the return on an Alcantara, Jesus Sanchez, Eddy Cabrera mega-trade would look like?
  14. Yeah, he was starting to heat up a little. Good to see it's not a long-term injury. All he really has to do is be better than Mervis and/or Wagaman so the bar is very low. He's still just 21 so no need to rush him.
  15. NP. Strained back, Otto off in corresponding move.
  16. Jesus and the Messiah back to back. Looks like the Mrs.won't need to give us the Viagra tonight!
  17. LOL, goes yard. Good question though. You know Edwards is on IL right?
  18. Eddy and the blisters today. Good top of first. Unrelated: Former Marlins Garrett Cooper (Braves) and Garrett Hampson (D'Backs) were both released today. Braxton Garrett and Amir Garrett were unavailable for comment.
  19. Good game by quantrill, bullpen solid as well. Agustin should be penciled in the lineup every day for the next 7 years.
  20. Cronin (if healthy) , Veneziano, Soriano. Pintar isn't on the 40-man. Seth Martinez deserves to be called up. He isn't on the 40-man either. His ERA is 0.00 currently. We'd have to take someone off the 40-man and the most obvious candidate is Rob Brantly but he's currently on the IL. After that we could probably risk losing Connor Gillispie as well. At some point there will be a roster crunch and we will have to make some decisions on some fringe guys.
  21. DDLS on injured list in AAA, was pulled from yesterday's game. Victor Mesa Jr. back in AAA after completing rehab in Jupiter. Went 4-4 in first game back. Andrew Pintar (the other guy in the Puk to D'backs trade) currently batting .344 in AAA. Downside is no power, and not great BB/K numbers.
  22. More baby steps for Sandy coming back from his surgery. Need to get his trade value as high as possible for the future of the organization.
  23. great game all around. Ramirez-Norby-Stowers is a nice 2-3-4 combo.
  24. Long-term what do we do at first base? Pretty obvious Mervis and Wagaman are not the answer. Options: Agustin DDLS Norby? Pauley? Johnston Conine/Stowers/Myers?
  25. Eury went 4 in Jupiter tonight. He's getting close to ready.
