Grant shephardson made his first ever stRt today in fcl. He was a fifth Rd HS pick last year. Looked outstanding- 3 up, 0 runs, 1 hit, 6 ks, 0 BBQ.

Acosta and serna are our shortstops at AAA and aa. Both are 22. Neither are ready yet.

Also, FCL (Florida Complex League) ball started over the weekend. Dominican Summer League starts next month. Good chance to see what our scouting and player development departments have done and hopefully improved.

The excuse that three starters (Weathers, Eury, Garrett) doesn't fly since we were missing even more lat year and weren't nearly as bad. They are both very young but without immediate improvement would question if they deserve to be here.

Don't know how long Stowers can keep it up but he is 100x the player he was last year. Norby needs to get going. A's are a legit playoff contender and Miller is a lights out closer. Big picture we have a nice nucleus of under 25 hitters that are only going to get better. Now let's get the pitching side up to par.

Hopefully eddy and Jesus can get hot long enough that we can sucker someone to trade for them. They are two guys whose talent far exceeds their work ethic and think they can get by on that alone. Would rather them be someone else's disappointment at this point. Also our stellar defensive outfield has turned into Wagaman, Sanchez, Stowers all arguably playing out of position. A far cry from Conine, Hill, Myers. Only other option is playing Sanoja out there out of position as well or Pauley.
