We have a new #1 prospect

Featured Replies

Andrew salas.17 and looks like aan among buys in Jupiter. He has moved above white meyer etc. this guy is the guy we need to be a superstar. Will be top 10 in baseball soon. Jackson chourio, junior caminero potential. Still 4 years away but this is our future

Think he needs to show some power before reaching top 10 status?

I realize at 17 a lack of power is completely understandable and there's projection but are there other top 10 prospect comps without any proven power output?

Look what he’s doing at 17 in low A is insane. On base machine, speed, and projectable above average/great defense in the infield is incredibly valuable. Basically a more productive version of Caba while 2 years younger. But he needs some projectable power before he’s considered our top prospect. Maybe he grows into his 6’2 frame and shows some pop. If he does that he can be considered a truly elite prospect. To be seen. It’s possible

Is his infield defense really supposed to be in the same realm as Caba? I've heard some call Caba the best shortstop glove in the minors.

Last time we had a talented young Salas he turned out to be meh.

And people lost their minds when we included him for Arraez lol

trade this one to get Arraez back!

Why so we could trade him again at the deadline for some other random guy named Salas?

No I don’t think so. Caba’s glove is elite. Salas is “just” good

Looked at all the other prospects taken in the same international class as Salas and not one has posted any stats yet. Theyre all most likely to start in rookie or DSL later on.

For Salas to be dominating low A already is pretty wild

Salas was overmatched at low A. He's still a solid prospect and remarkably playing above his level for his age. Hope he can get it right in rookie ball. Needs to put on some strength but still very toolsy.

Two of the big three in FCL (Cova, Arana) were just promoted to Jupiter so will be interesting to see what they can do. The leap from DSL/FCL to A ball is one of the biggest sink or swim moments for a prospect.

Lots of other minor league moves with promotions and releases. Our minor league depth looks pretty strong right now, probably as good as it ever has to be honest.
