4/1 vs Mets - 6:40
A bit surprised we didn't see Faucher but I'll take the Henriquez/Veneziano/Bender combo as well. Mets undoing was fielding and nice to see the two key hits being Stowers and Pauley who are guys we hope are part of the future. Cabrera got in 3 innings of rehab. Was shaky in first but settled down. Heriberto Hernandez hit a grand slam (three guesses what team we picked him up from. Hint: Rays. Rays, or Rays). He's not supposed to be a prospect but who knows. Monteverde is replacing Eddy and Jacob Berry challenged a strike three which wasn't even close to being a ball. Maybe he needs an eye exam or lasik.

4/1 vs Mets - 6:40
It's a long season, Sandy's pretty fresh off of TJ. Probably fresh in McCullough's mind leaving Quantrill out to try last night. Might have let him go one more personally, but hidsight is 20/20. Nice job by Henriquez.

4/1 vs Mets - 6:40
He was rushed up last year by the Padres and still needs a little more minor league seasoning. Will be interesting to see what happens when Norby comes back. He can play the outfield too so that might be where he lands if he can stick in the majors. I'd love to see him get as much playing time as possible right now as his upside is way higher than Bride or Wagaman. That Tanner Scott trade might turn into another Bendix masterpiece down the road.

Former Marlin farmhand Jake Mangum batting cleanup for the Rays tonight with 2 RBIs already. Kam Misner also with a hit and off to a hot start for Tampa.

Rain delay in Jacksonville. Reminder, Cabrera is supposed to make a rehab start.

Stowers baby!

4/1 vs Mets - 6:40
Three reasons to be optimistic today: 1) The Pirates optioned Bednar to AAA, which means we were the only team to benefit from his lollipop lobs. 2) The Phillies claimed Brett de Geus. That's like someone paying you double face value for a McDonald's gift card you got for free and the gift card was expired. 3) The Braves are on pace to go 0-162.

4/1 vs Mets - 6:40
Need some good plate discipline tonight and take advantage of the opportunities when they come. Without looking it up, I feel like we had a lot of trouble with Senga in the past and we can't be the free-swinging batters we were yesterday.

BREAKING NEWS: Bruce Sherman to Sell Miami Marlins
Literally a second and a half of excitement then OH, April fools. Damn.

Position Summary: Starting Pitching
First time through rotation: Alcantara Gillispie Bellozo Meyer Quantrill Sandy and Meyer both looked solid. Bellozo was very mid. Gillispie and Quantrill objectively bad. Cabrera ready to rehab. Imagine he will take Bellozo's place, although if Gillispie doesn't improve he could shift to bullpen. Weathers status is a bit murky. Eury won't be ready until second half. AAA rotation pretty disappointing. Mazur is the one to watch and the rest of the guys are 4-A guys at best (Junk, Tarnok, Pilar, S. Martinez) AA should be loaded. Rest of minors will kick off this weekend.

Believe In The Dix
Cabrera to Jacksonville on rehab assignment today. That's good news that he will start pitching. He's a very frustrating player but we could use him in the rotation.

3/31 - Mets at Marlins - 6:40 p.m.
Like who exactly should we sign or have signed, I'm all ears. I am supportive because I am a fan and have no choice and feel like this time we are actually doing some things to sustain long-term success. We are going to lose a LOT this year. Doesn't mean I won't keep seeing the big picture. I like what Bendix is doing because I have studied up on how to win, analytics, age curves, etc. I have read a lot, run data simulations, know how important infrastructure investing will benefit the future. Whether it is Bendix or someone else doesn't matter, but he does have a pretty good track record. Could they improve on their communication, absolutely. I support the Marlins no matter what. I support the front office right now because they are doing what they need to do for long-term success. I don't like or support Bruce Sherman, but we are stuck with him. I also think McCullough messed up last night and said so. I also will never support Fanatics or Fan Duel.

Not at all. I miss plenty of games as well since, you know, life and work happens. I am talking about the ones that spend the entire game complaining and then as soon as we have a rough patch dip out or think the sky is falling. We are NOT going to have a very good year but we still should be supportive and look at the long-term picture. Arias had a really nice debut last night and we are sitting at 3-2. Yet the moment things went south it was a chicken little effect.

Well since all the fairweather fans and crybabies left, here's the summary: The Good: Nice debut for Luarbert Arias, three shutout innings in garbage time. Might be a useful piece in the bullpen down the road. The Bad: Plate approach/discipline was pretty disappointing and a step back. The Ugly: Quantrill blowing up, Soriano looking like a 4-A pitcher, and McCullough leaving him out to dry. We are still 3-2 with Sandman up tomorrow. Every one of them will take it. 8-run losses count the same as 1-run losses.

Our plate approach has been disappointing tonight. Need to take a look at that and correct it going forward.

Luarbert about to make his MLB debut. May as well have him pitch the last three. We should be able tow get 2 or 3 off Brazoban as well.

Maybe Bednar missed his flight and is hanging out in the Mets bullpen?

LOL, Big Wagon bomb. We are back.

3/31 - Mets at Marlins - 6:40 p.m.
I was talking about the Jumbo Shrimp. We all know that this season is going to be rocky and painful at times like tonight, but it's an actual long-term plan under budget constraints from the owner.

3/31 - Mets at Marlins - 6:40 p.m.
FAced two very good pitchers in Misiorowski and Rodriguez. DDLS does need a lot of work but he's still only 22 so there's is time to see if he can improve. Agustin looked good, Acosta looked good, and Pintar looked excellent. DDLS and DingleBerry not so much. Marsee is who he is.

Heaney will be 34, Quintana is 36. Zero point in signing them.
-
3/31 - Mets at Marlins - 6:40 p.m.
They are 2-1 and beat one of the best pitching prospects in baseball. Almost the entire squad is about 4 years younger than average age of AAA. Are you just complaining to complain?
-
3/31 - Mets at Marlins - 6:40 p.m.
Ok then, who did you want to realistically sign? The only guy I really wanted was Soroka and who knows how he will do.

3/31 - Mets at Marlins - 6:40 p.m.
Snelling is in AA, Mazur will probably be up halfway through. Our next wave of starting pitchers are all in AA and about a year to a year and a half-off.

We do have four starters on the IL. I don't really think many other teams can overcome that.
