High Prairie viable destination?
If this was viable, wouldnt the Marlins have taken it and run with it? Hialieah, Miami Lakes, North Miami Beach, they should all try to move to get a stadium in their cities cause lets face it, nobody has any reason to go there otherwise. Miami lakes = no space. Plus, even if they had the space the property values and land values are way way too high. Where in NMB? Not a bad idea, but where? Hialeah is #1

High Prairie viable destination?
Hialeah has a bad rap for being too Hispanic. I think that it is a shame that we are not respected anymore and lets face facts; Hialeah is not a tourist destination and Miami is. That being said, I think with the County money, Hialeah can make a run for the stadium and have it built here. The area around Hialeah park kinda reminds me of the area next to both Yankee stadium and Wrigley field

High Prairie viable destination?
Dont listen to me though, because I am biased toward Hialeah, because I live there (51st and W 4th Ave) about 2 mins from the proposed area. I do remember in the recent elections that one of the candidates for mayor made it clear that Hialeah has something like 200 million stored in a bank

High Prairie viable destination?
One thing is for certain. If they pick this location they will need to widen the roads

High Prairie viable destination?
No, because the city of Miami was going to pitch in some money. Hialeah has yet to actually give some money. THey will give the land to the Marlins however. Hialeah is a proud city, who was once nationally known for their race track and it is ready to re-develop this area and make it great again. Hialeah is a big city with more than 200,000 inhabitants. Hialeah is also a great location, because it is 30 minutes away from many major south florida cities. Miami, Miami Beach, Downtown Miami, Miramar, Pembroke Pines, Coral Gables, Kendall are all 30 mins away from Hialeah

High Prairie viable destination?
Guys do the following: 1. Check to make sure this passed in the election. 2. Make sure the property wasnt developed otherwise. 3. Write a concise letter in business style to Every local radio, Television place and to the marlins FO too over the information. Perhaps just maybe you can turn it into a rumored good place. If so, you never know what can happen. 1. It did 2. IT hasnt 3. Okay

High Prairie viable destination?
Second one i think, because the first one is in Miami Gardens. Actually the first one is not too far from Dolhins stadium

High Prairie viable destination?
Good call Moneyball. You are absolutely right. That would be ideal, becuase hte area around the Hialeah Race Track is desolate and old

Moving along...
All Roads lead to Hialeah. 826, 836, 112, and Metrorail to get to the stadium
-
Moving along...
Hialeah!!! It has metrorail service that will leave you next ot the park a la Yankee Stadium and we have a nice hispanic population. Remember that the Miami Arena was in Overtown and Hialeah is not OVertown. Let's get it done Miami Arena was never in Overtown. Just right outside of it. Sooooory. It is pretty darn close to Overtown. sh*t, the Metrorail stop is even called "Overtown Arena"

Moving along...
Plus, the city of Hialeah has stashed away a few bucks over the years thanks to Raul Martinez.

Makes No Sense... Money does not pan out
Okay, so we have some sources saying that the Marlins will slash payroll 25% next season. That would put us at a bit under 50 million for the 2006 season. Here is a breakdown. Please feel free to add to this League Minimum Rookies Josh Johnson Scott Olsen Jason Vargas Jeremy Hermida Robert Andino Josh Wilson Josh Willingham Chris Aguila Bargain Players Under 1 million or a bit above: Miguel Cabrera Dontrelle Willis These 10 players will account for less than 5 million dollars against the 2006 payroll. That leaves the Marlins with 45 Million for 15 players. There is no way that the Marlins will strip the entire team, because the payroll will be much less than 50 million.

What's the funniest/stupidest/coolest thing you've heard...
During the Cubs series when we were swept, the Cubs fans had a memorable quote... "You know what Lo Duca means, it means duck in french" I was laughing my ass off at that

2005 Playoff Race Thread
So who do we root for, Atlanta or Washington?? :mischief2 874807 I am rooting for Washington to win 2 and Atlanta to win 1 (I think its a 3 game series) 874810 No, that makes no sense. You want one of these teams to win all three games and for the Marlins to win all 3 of their series. If that happens the marlins would be 1.5 games back in the wild card standings

Two lefties for the Marlins' bullpen get lite up
If you never recorded an out, you can't have an average.? Lane is right.? Let's say first game of the season you give up 5 runs in the first inning without retiring a runner and are pulled -- your E.R.A would be infinity.? 872753 If you give up 8 runs in 9 innings your ERA would be sideways infinity. :o 872853 Huh? No, your ERA would be 8.00

That eight letter term is rearing its head
This is not a firesale at all. C'Mon we are moving the salary of a player who has had a terrible beginning to this year and an end to last year. Burnett hinted about his reluctance to sign with the Fish. We are making the correct moves here.
