  1. Remember this ownership could care less about this teams past. Which is why former players are working for the team and all of the suites are named after them and Florida Marlins images are all over the park and Roger Dean. "All over"??? Seriously?? I would fall over laughing but I don't want to dirty my #5 Barger jersey. You either don't care or have never taken a tour of the ballpark but Florida Marlins are widely displayed at the park. They probably don't outnumber Miami stuff but when your Pushing a new identity why would you let the old stuff outnumber the new I don't get led in and out of the stadium blindfolded. And they have outright said the old Marlins are OUT, long live the new Marlins. I completely understand the aspect of selling all the new stuff, as you stated in a later rant. Heck, I would probably do the same thing in an attempt to increase sales as much as I could. But to say they are fully embracing the old Marlins isn't true. Including the two championship flags and how they display those championships at Roger Dean. The Florida Marlins didn't win those, the Marlins did. But I digress. The only problem I have with anything they have done regarding the history of the entire orginazation is unretiring #5. Especially without consulting with Barger's family and the blatant lie Samson said about not knowing they didn't. Guess he thought we would think that one went over his head. (yea, that was a short joke) Curious- does it hurt to keep cashing your paycheck? I mean, Norman Braman gave you a simple task in discrediting the Front Office and getting the stadium deal voided. You must surely be hurt that you couldn't do that one simple task and alienate the fanbase. I thought for sure he would have given you a pink skip or taught you how to wrist slit by now. I'll tell you what- when you see the crypt keeper again feel free to jiggle the boys while your down there. We'll call it "Creative Accounting". You can even put it on your next resume.
  2. I want the A's to comeback. Be human, Verlander. Same here, but this yankee game is too riveting.
  3. Reggie Ambercrombie. That monster could mash. You should see him attack the concrete slabs he has to break every day.
  4. Anyone else mesmerized by that whistle after every Orioles Stikeout- nice and catchy. It's actually a sponsorship with PC Richards and sons, and electronics store in NYC. If only Miami had something that can be used and not be overbearing. I'd kill myself if I heard "Dale!" after every strikeout.
  5. I was thinking about this while watching the ALDS tonight. Why in the world did we part ways with some of these lesser known players who ended up being pretty damn good in their new homes? I'm not talking about the obvious overly espensive guys (Cabrera, Willis, Beckett, uggla) i mean guys who we barely gave a chance in the big leagues. The first two names that came to mind were: Robert Andino Alejandro de Aza Any others you can think of? I'm sure I'm missing a crapload of these types of players but I am a little tipsy so my memory isn't the best right now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Andino- Hanley, Uggla, Amezega, Bonifacio, Coghlan. De Aza- didn't know how to stay healthy, Maybin, Stanton, Morrion, Willingham?
  6. You mean you want to shave like a man? It's hard, real hard. I've done it enough to know what I'm doing, but you have to be really careful and control the situation around you. If your a jumpy person by nature avoid it. I've given myself a good wack once by accidently not locking the bathroom door. I learned the proper technique from my barber, it's more to do with angle, and sharpness then anything. You have to be very careful. It's not exactly something I feel comfortable explaining, I don't want to be responsible for cutting someone- I'd rather stab them myself. Google the website "art of manliness" and " how to shave like your grandpa". After that, ask an older barber to show you how to hold and angle the blade, and practice on your forearm. If your barber looks like he got his license during the carter administration- hell teach you. Some actually take pride in passing on the skill. My barber actually uses it to do my "tape" so I knew he was the one to ask. Just- be careful. Practice on parts of your skin you don't mind getting cut. To this day I will sometimes start with my nolasco beard on my face and use a cartridge for my neck.
  7. The Giants become the first team in National League history to come back from down 0-2 to win the Divisional Series. f***. :lol f***. There goes my chance of wearing my Griffey jersey.
  8. And I had to take a sh*t then didn't I? f***, the Game Tying and Game Winner. A-Rod must feel like sh*t. I don't see why he would. His team just won. He was pinch hit for in the bottom of the 9th, and the guy who replaced him hit the tying and game winning home runs. You can be happy your team one and feel sad personally that you were lifted in such a key moment.
  9. And I had to take a sh*t then didn't I? f***, the Game Tying and Game Winner. A-Rod must feel like sh*t.
  10. This yankee game is pretty good, hopefully it goes 23 innings and ends in the execution of Buck Showalter.
  11. Oakland forces a Game 4 by a score of 2-0. Woooohooooo
  12. This is a confirmed fake. Also per Juan Rodriguez of the Sun-Sentinel, we will not be wearing ANY patch for the 20th anniversary in 2013. Bull!!!!! One of the coolest things about uniforms is the celebration of the team's history through patches.
  13. If hiring a board member to manage the team is the cheapest solution possible, I hope someone on this board gets hired to manage the team. I'll do it for free, and the bullpen phone would be replaced with a message board. THIS message board! A secret forum of this message board. It shall be named "GAME THREADS!" and someone will forget to post in it every day.
  14. Ericks actually a mixed child. His father got tired of being asked "is that cracka really yours" and found a solution.
  15. I shocked you. Mission accomplished. I wanted to put LOL, but your post deserved more. Lol.
  16. Piazza31, are you Erick's father? No but I am Pedro Martinez's daddy.

  18. what the hell is going on here? We are making our High School Math Teachers proud. I'm just stuck overanalyzing more sh*t on my day off. Where's "Some sh*t" when you need them.
  19. Why do you guys argue so logically? It's a forum. Call the other one a fat dick and stop wasting time on the internet. I did.
  20. However, I just think it's funny that when terms like blue-collar are used, all the guys are white. Jose Reyes is totally not blue-collar. Eric are you black or just a very strong supporter of equal rights. I don't mean it in a bad way but you are always bringing up race. He's definitely black. That's why he wants Lenny Harris to throw out the first pitch.Let's skip this speculation ask just ask. Eric, do you know your father? Wow, just wow.
  21. Let's go Red Stockings! Let's go Highlanders!
  22. Here's some highlights from the Mens Journal Article- per the sun sentinel. How can one assume the articles value should be taken at face value when the White Sox lead most of these. Given the information provided, I feel it's safe to assume the players interviewed are from the AL. Not only that but they more then likely are the Cleveland Indians, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals and Twins. The survey is worthless. So is any attempt to give it credibility. Some highlights of the survey: Who is the most hated player? 1. A.J. Pierzynski (White Sox), 34 percent 2. Alex Rodriguez (Yankees), 10 percent 3. Nick Swisher (Yankees), 9 percent Which city has the best groupies? 1. Chicago, 27 percent 2. Scottsdale, Ariz. (spring training), 13 percent 3. Toronto, 9 percent Who is the least respected manager? 1. Ozzie Guillen (Marlins), 36 percent 2. Bobby Valentine (Red Sox), 14 percent 3. Manny Acta (Indians), 5 percent Which team would you least like to play for? 1. Athletics, 19 percent 2. Blue Jays, 10 percent 3. Royals, 9 percent Who is the biggest trash talker? 1. Orlando Hudson (White Sox), 31 percent 2. Nyjer Morgan, (Brewers), 17 percent 3. Chris Carpenter (Cardinals), 14 percent Which city has the most obnoxious fans? 1. Philadelphia, 36 percent 2. San Francisco, 22 percent 3. New York, 12 percent Permalink | ShareThis
  23. I mentioned the doubling because I didn't realize at first that the article was in June. Since that time, Bobby Valentine has probably taken the lead, especially throwing Youkilis under the bus the way he did. Ozzie at least stuck up for his players. Why would your respect for someone change just because of a hot month? By the time the article was written, we were already sliding downwards. Not saying anything about a conspiracy, nor is it a desperate attempt to discredit a poll. I feel 100 out of 750 is a small amount. And, again, in June, so things may have changed. I'm also not saying Ozzie is a respected person, nor does he deserve it. Just saying, 100 out of 750, even if it does remove the "Margin of Error," is still small in the big picture. They could have asked 100 Cuban players for all we know, who would have a definitely skewed opinion of him due to his comments 2 months previously. Meh. Not worth arguing anymore. 1. Well do you have any evidence to support that? Even If Bobby V somehow took the lead in a new poll, which I doubt (because opinions of a large base don't change so rapidly and substantially in a short amount of time), what's your point? It would still remain that Ozzie is not respected by a large portion of the player base, which has been my thesis all along. And in your earlier post, you yourself said not much would change."That was back in June, man. Sure, it wouldn't be much different now, I'm sure, but still." But now apparently Bobby V is making up ground by 22% in this hypothetical, nonexistent poll? That there's a contradiction. 2. I said that it might have influenced the prevailing opinion of him on a superficial level based on the results he was getting. The point is that the timing of the poll doesn't really help your argument. Also, the poll was obviously conducted before the article was written. They are two separate things. 3. The problem there is that you feel. Mathematically, it is not a small amount for the purposes of the hypothesis I presented. The MoE actually projects that he would still be near top in a maximum negative error encompassing the entire population. And again, it is entirely possible that it goes the other way. That is why I said you shouldn't be trying to poke holes based on your gut. 4. Again, empirical statistical projection would disagree about the sample size. I hope I don't have to state how absurd the Cuban thing is, considering its a random poll. And the fact that there aren't 100 Cuban players. This goes back to what I can only logically conclude to be an insinuation of deceit or conspiracy (by those shady conniving bastards over at Men's Journal lol) on your part, because there's no other explanation. If you don't want to wait until your Stat class, this could help you understand some of the concepts: http://en.wikipedia....Margin_of_error You make a long drawn out post on his inaccuracies, yet you ignored mine. Obviously you feel I am a threat to whatever ill-conceived credibility your attempting to give a "Men's Journal" article. I want to be a dick, but your just coming across as a pompus ass. That's right, I left out the don't in the last sentence. No matter the statistical analysis, a subject who is interviewed should always have the qualifications to be interviewed. The fact that we don't know if these 100 players ever had prior contact with Ozzie or their beliefs are based strictly on hearsay is in debate. Without that information, this poll that you are trying desperately to protect is worthless. Once again, without the proper polling subjects, or the explanations of how these subjects are related to Ozzie it amounts to lying with statistics.
  24. However, I just think it's funny that when terms like blue-collar are used, all the guys are white. Jose Reyes is totally not blue-collar. Eric are you black or just a very strong supporter of equal rights. I don't mean it in a bad way but you are always bringing up race. He's actually Dan Lebatard. Ain't that right DANNY!!!
